Massive failure by Took. That's what he gets for saying Sleep is better than Black Sabbath though.

more importantly, it's cute that you talk about your alt account in such a way
even cuter that I'm talking as if I'm not your alt account myself really just an unbearable amount of cuteness going on in this page of the thread! |

During his solo tour, that was when he trashed every audience at every show via long bitching rants if someone would excitedly shout out a Pumpkins song name... berating thousands of people, claiming that it was totally ridiculous to “live in the past,” and that the Pumpkins were no more.
...and then he hypocritically announced the return of the Pumpkins while on that tour. THAT... was the beginning of the end for him, In many of our eyes, I think. |

2008: The twentieth anniversary tour generates a ton of bad press all aimed at Billy's strange fan bashing behavior.
2009: The Chris Isaak Hour episode airs. Both Billy and Jimmy look like pompous asses. Jimmy is "fired" less than two weeks after the episode airs. 2010: Billy replaces Jimmy with a nineteen year old kid and continues his imperious attitude in press. 2011: In August Billy receives an onslaught of negative press regarding the Devi Ever interaction where he made multiple transphobic comments. I'd say Billy/SP had as much press over this issues as the reunion tour generated. In December the band goes on a small press tour where most of the new members exhibit Stockholm Syndrome like behavior. 2012: Billy appears on Alex Jones' Infowars and besmirches most of the aura of respect he possessed. Oceania Cruise takes place in June. Towards the end of the year he is interviewed by Monte who then releases snippets or "sips of tea" which are short clips of MCIS era b-sides. 2013: Opens Madame Zuzu's, becomes middle man for tea business. 2014: Eight hour siddhartha live stream. |

I don't recall him berating fans very much in 2005. That was in 2008. He was clear he didn't want to play Pumpkins songs in 2005, but he also teased Today as part of one song, and he also made the announcement the band was getting back together pretty early on... or maybe even before the tour

I distinctly remember him asking the cameraguy to zoom in on Corgan's fingers when he played 1979. like dude...tabs are a thing. MCIS songbook is a thing. it's just octave chords also jimmy being a twat with the whole 'james and d'arcy brought high fashion to the band' quip also jimmy's little rimshots in the verses of Owata were awesome |

Have you guys actually seen the group in a while? I had an old Facebook I used as a burner account and joined again. It's a cult man. People are legit getting married to each other and they have mass gatherings with matching outfits. Totally bizarre stuff.

That version of Owata was actually really amazing. I was still excited to see where the band was headed. I for sure thought we were getting a full on acoustic style album with all the IAGW stuff and the AG release.

Breaking up the band didn't seem to do any member any favors. I guess James got through it all right. At least you could believe Look To The Sky was made by someone who was in the Smashing Pumpkins.

Yeah their Chris Isaak show was great in terms of music, but holy crap did they embarrass themselves in the interview. Chris Isaak was visibly like "what the hell is up with these guys."

What is this from? The infamous picture fiasco? I have an unbelievable Linda Strawberry story that I have never shared on here or actually anywhere before.
