the worst part about zeitgeist is not even the mastering. it's one of the worst produced albums I can think of. IMO the only way to significantly improve it would be to remix the songs

All the credit must go to the Breegster, who coined this immortal translation.

I can only take credit for being the second person to say it. I am pretty sure I took it from someone else

From Shitegeist I like Stellar. From this current turd I can sorta tolerate SS and Travels.

Now, if Stellar > SS+Travels but Stellar was not on the album where does that leave me?

Confused.

I dunno brother. I'm genuinely surprised that people are so excited with this music.

A lot of this music is straight up pop, and it's not even really catchy or memorable or anything... If you're gonna do pop, it's supposed to stick in ones head.

A pop song like this by a smaller Canadian artist is 100 times better than anything on Shiny.

I've come to the conclusion that SP fans will convince themselves to like anything if Billy Corgan is involved... What's the most puzzling is why critics are seemingly so enamored with this release. I really didn't see that coming.

Why does everyone feel compelled to “see? this song is buttfuckton 1,00,000,000 better than any song on soabpenisvol1” every fucken time some new bill comes out

We get it; there are other songs in the world, plus even artists too: great job

Just to provide a little context in regards to how stale and bland Corgan has become.

It's an excellent title because it screams Pumpkins. but at the same time, it's so forgettable. I keep forgetting what this album is called, even though they also toured under the same title this summer.

just cause i like it better than zeitgeist doesn't mean i'm all excited or anything.

it IS a pop album, and the songs do stick in my head.

that makes no sense, since most of us here have basically disliked to varying degrees the majority or all the music he has put out since the old band folded. That is what other parts of the fan community know Netphoria for. What I have observed is that people who have seriously enjoyed other SP2 releases (like you with Monuments) tend to think this album is underwhelming, and people who have been pushed to the outside are more likely to think this album is a big step in the right direction.

they are pretty catchy. Knights might be the first Pumpkins song in forever to really stick in my brain the first time I heard it

Tonight I am going to listen to Zeitgeist and do a comparison, cause I haven't listened to it in about a year, and before that it may have been 5 or 6 years since I played it through

no. zeitgeist is still the best SP2 album.

its really not that bad of an album even though starz, and billys aahs and oohs in the background are obnoxious.

Whether or not it's the best post 2000 release remains to be seen in my book - but one thing is for DAMN certain.

That acronym sure as shit is the best. I've been putting "LP" in there too after the 1. That part of the title is what is most befuddling to me: why the hell is that Vol. 1 LP in there? If it was JUST "No Past No Future No Sun" that would be one thing, but man.

Need to find a way to have more in person conversations about SP so I can crank out that sequence of letters like I was referencing MCIS or something.

what if the title is a joke, and there has never been any plan for a volume 2
