very intersting that they chose to flip flop things this year, so the top-billed unopposed headliner is on Friday instead of Sunday.

should be a kickass weekend.

Well, you better hope Kanye starts his set on time and that he doesn't get pissed that he's playing opposite someone else.

yea, remember its not a camping fest. instead everyone converges on the city to keep the party going...and it gives them a chance to clean everything perfectly so each day is as well run as the prior day. i prefer camping, but it works...and is well run.

type "fuck kanye" and "bonnaroo" into google and read about it for yourself.

you've been to Roo, so you know it takes a major douche to get Bonnaroo-goers to turn on someone. Kanye managed to do it by demanding he be moved to the main stage, requesting Lesh's set be cut short so he'd be the only performer (which also required moving other acts' already published stages and times elsewhere), not apologizing or even making any other comments during the show, etc. Technically this is all hearsay, really, as no one with credibility has said anything other than a Roo official attributing the delay to PJs set going long. But that puts his start time at 3:30am (as opposed to 2:45) and he didn't go on until 4:30 or so. So there's some truth in there somewhere.

I saw his show and I enjoyed it, even though it had unintentional bad comedy throughout. The lights were supposed to go out at the end and he was supposed to disappear... but the sun was up by then, so after laying there a few seconds he just got up and climbed down a ladder. And that was the end of the Kanye West show.

I thought it was fun in part because in no other place will you see a Kanye West show at 5:30 in the morning. But he certainly deserves to be called out for being a fucking dickhead.

he threatened to back out completely if he wasn't moved to the What Stage, actually. He also wanted to play Friday in Metallica's slot and have Chris Rock introduce him.
(talked to the security manager at the Which Stage when I was camped out for Gogol)

Are any of those venues listed above remotely close to Grant Park? Like, walking distance close? Just curious.
