Good for Jeff for riding the trainwreck that is SP 2 and making a living off of it. I’m not a fan but I can’t say I blame the guy. Better than sitting behind a desk.

Lol either way, I couldn't care less what he does in the privacy of his bedroom.

As far as his guitar playing goes, he's had dope moments. Some of the more freestyle interplay he had going on with Billy was cool. The live pro-shot footage of Set The Ray To Jerry during the outro comes to mind.

When he sucked was when he had that flanger effect or whatever and he would noodle like he was trying to be The Edge from U2 or something. And his image on stage was always kind of bland. He just looked like some guy sitting at Starbucks or something. It just wasn't very Smashing Pumpkinsy. Although it was rad when he debuted with that white Dracula cape thing... I know most fans ripped on that here, but I always thought it was cool. SP excels when they embrace the crazy.

Remember in one of those preshow acoustic dealies how he simply played a straight scale to end the song?

Czarina & Once in a While are both in the Annie-Dog series of Billy Corgan Sounding Dead

i was into all 3 of 'em back in the day but, these days if i'm not in the right mood, they just sort of sound lethargic to me

Billy sounds drained
it's not wistful like say, Stumbleine or even Perfect
just kind of weary

the music itself is good tho

I always heard him as vulnerable there. Loved those tracks for that.

he just sounds utterly joyless on those to me

For Martha is one i'd say he's truly vulnerable-sounding on

but hey, arguing about SP1 songs is pretty much a silly man's game by this point innit

Annie dog yeah he sounds like he came off a three day run.

But Czarina is pure gold. So mellow and warm and dreamy and content. Ah yes that song is wondrous!

Love the above mentioned jams, but anybody got special love for Jersey Shore and/or Valentine? Such pretty little sad songs.
