Soundgarden is (was) a great band. Their music is more sophisticated than any of the other grunge acts. There really is no other band quite like them, and the musicianship isn't bad either. Kim Thayil is a beast.

Soundgarden? Mediocre? C'monnn. I wouldn't say they were prolific in the same way other bands of their genre were, but when they were good, it was special.
