Post Help! CDRWin Error

I started burning a CD, nothing else running on the computer. About 90 seconds into the burn, I get an error message that pops up saying this:

Error: 'WRITE' command failed on device 1:1:0
Illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 63h 00h)

What does this mean exactly and how can this be remedied? It was working fine before.

Thanks in advance!

Yep, the same thing's happened to me. Way back when I had my old burner, this problem never occured, but the old version of CDRwin couldnt recognize my new burner, so I installed the newest version of CDRwin, og oops, there we go.

I dont know, why it happens, but I usually do, what Strange One apparently also do, I reboot. I'm usually able to burn 4-5 discs, before it happens, so now I just reboot after burning 4 discs every time

Yes, this sounds familar...

I can deal with this, but is there any permanent solution?

I'm using a cracked version of CDRwin, and the crack is about a year now, I think. So perhaps this crack isnt working that well with versions of CDRwin, that has been released after the crack was made
I dont know. I havent been able to track down any solutions to this problem

I wouldn't use an old crack with a new version. CDRWin is known for being very tricky when it comes to cracks and illegal registrations. Sometimes they will accept your illegal info and then just burn crap discs to screw you.

When I used CDRWin, I found that message only popped up when I was using several other applications at the same time. I learned that CDRWin isn't very friendly when it comes to sharing your cpu's resources.

Yea, it's a very greedy program... it likes to be nice and comfy in the RAM department.

I got that message for a while, too... it happens. It seems like I overwork mine... then lay off for a while, and the problem fixes itself. Frequent reboots helps.

Moreso... the media often does this. I've been using good TDK's and burned like 80 in a row, no problem. I change to this crappy brand, and the 2nd disc gets munched.

Speaking of which...

I've been trying to get Windows XP to work for me for quite a while now and have been having burning cds. Does anyone have a recent CDRWIN crack they could shoot me over through AIM?

E-mail me at [email protected]

Thanks!

I've been doing this with TDKs and it's annoying, because it's not consistent in behavior and ends up costing me about one disc for every properly burned disc. Arg!!!

Yes, if anyone has a cracked copy or a proper crack, or...well, anything, please either post it here or e-mail me at [email protected] - it'd be very much appreciated.

Thanks again in advance!

I've been writing discs with EAC lately using my drive's write offset. So far its been burning perfect discs. I've tested the 3 I've done. I burn at 4x, I don't know if burning faster will enable Burn-Proof and screw up your disc (EAC doesn't seem to have an option to disable Burn-Proof).
