That's how I've had it explained to me anyway. It makes sense.

yeah i read this thing on some blog that did a pretty good job of explaining a lot of things. i feel like i should have just watched it a few times and figured it all out myself.....but eh. what can you do. i wanna watch it again keeping the stuff i read in mind and then maybe be able to make some sense out of everything. i dunno.

Yeah I've heard all of the explainations and shit and I get it, but I think that the viewer should be able to understand the movie after the first or second time they watch it. I mean seriously who figured that shit out on their own after the first time seeing it, and who had to have it explained to them/looked it up on the internet?

I had the same issue with the non-directors-cut version of Donnie Darko.

mulholland drive is just a collection of thoughts, ideas, hopes, wishes and fears concerning hollywood, a painting of sorts; structuring it unnecessarily results in missing the bigger picture
