Default Whir Guitar Tuning

Do you use standard tuning to play Whir? I was trying it tonight and it didn't sound right. I'm pretty new to guitar but can play a little. Does anyone know?

very very rarely he gives real answers about guitar tech stuff [practice scales w/ eyes closed, etc] and it's so irritating because if he just acted like a normal human being i wouldn't have to hate him

It's in standard, you can tell by the way outro chords ring out. The chorus chord shapes are something I've never been 100% sure of and I've seen them tabbed like this:

4x4400
4x6600
2x4400

which seems accurate enough, but does anyone else have a different idea?

I don't know the whole song... it's got a lot of open strings and it gets hard to figure out what's happening. definitely standard tuning though. something that fucked me up when I was trying to learn this early on was that I didn't understand how important it is to hit those bass notes in the intro. that's what gives the guitar the melody. there's a lot of harmonic washout in the rest of the strings

They played a bunch of songs on that tour in different tunings from the studio versions. Off the top of my head, I know they played "Mary Star of the Sea" in an open tuning (DADGAD I think). If I'm reading the set list right, it says to tune "Rocket" and "Soma" to the Nashville tuning, when those songs are both in standard tuning on the album.

i am confused reading that tho cause he is playing a 12 string for the songs --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgkpRJglyRg which defeats the purpose, i think

originally i was gonna make a shitty joke after reading the setlist that it was silly to write two sets of quotes to repeat a whole line, but that makes more sense knowing it's a tuning thing [hence same guitar, same tuning]

I just tuned to the setlist tuning and it seems right:

Code:
The verse riff uses the chords:
e----0---0---0---
b----0---0---0---
G#---3---0---1---
E----0---0---0---
A----2---2---0---
E----0---0---x---

The chorus is maybe:
e----0---0---0---
b----0---0---0---
G#---0---0---0---
E----0---0---0---
A----6---2---4---
E----4---0---2---
I'd have to watch the live video/listen to the song again to confirm.
