Default Guitar nerds: Sounds like the Strat + JMP-1 rig is back.

Tarantula really sounds like OD1 mode on the JMP-1/Strategy 500 setup. Maybe the Diezel VH4 is in there somewhere (solos?) but i'm hearing mostly Strat/JMP1/500.
I know he got a JMP-1 modded by Voodoo amps a while back so that's gotta be why it seems to cut through a little more.

By using them and remembering what they sound like.

The JMP1 rig is very similar to what spguitar owns, so of course he'd be able to pick it.

By having Billy Corgan as your avatar, either in animated or naked form.

are you a member at Haunting mids?

I distinctivly remember a story about some rich kid who fucked you over when you donated time and advice to him and then when you noticed that most of his songs were Gravity Demo songs and told him, he got pissed and claimed they were his.

I remember this kid and he thinks we're internet buddies and shit.
I told him off as well.
odd kiddo.

I've been thinking bout modding my stock Mesa Traditional with 2 Celestion G12T75s in an X pattern. Then it'd be like a Bogner Uberkab.

I used my '84 JCM800 with the Big Muff and the strat and I got it to sound pretty dead on.

I think the solo has to be the '65 SG Standard or Iommi SG.

Why the SG, in particular?

You really need a certain helmet to help you hear the tones

You should have tacked "Elementary, Watson" on there.

I'm no expert on how this particular rig combined with this particular gear produces this particular sound, partly because I just haven't had the money or time to experiment (thought I certainly would like to.)

BUT it would seem to me he could make this sound work with a Strat, too.

4. it was lucky lad, with lyrics. that was the only blatant rip, but the rest were very pumpkins "inspired".

If you look at Obscured's tab of it, there's a 24th fret bend... and so if it's a Strat style guitar, it's no Fender.

Sounds to me a little like he's using the Zwan strat on some of the cleaner sounds. The one with the quarter pounders.
