Default Have you accepted the Baby Pumpkins?

Have you accepted Jeff, Ginger and Lisa as members of the Smashing Pumpkins family?

I know there is a lot of resentment amongst fans at having "fake James" and another girl bassist that isn't D'arcy.

I like all the new members and would like to see them involved in the creative process gradually.

In terms of ability, the new members are equally talented and in the case of Ginger, superior to her predecessor.

In terms of stage banter and general contribution to the image of the band, Jeff isn’t a patch on James. But we are spared whatever embarrassment D’arcy would have come up with in Ginger’s place.

And as an added bonus, Ginger is about as hot as could have been hoped for.

I've accepted them, a lot of other fans who actually still like SP have accepted them, but 10 months after the band's first show in Paris, it doesn't seem like the B0lly has accepted 'em.

maybe if they had some input on the creative processes and were actually part of the band's recordings and decision making it would be easier to see them as part of the new pumpkins.

i agree they are talented tho.

I've accepted them
but I have suspicious with lisa
I'd put her on par with the other two
but i suspect she deviates from billy's "fab 4" dream...

Your all going to hate me but i actually think Lisa is pretty cool!! After the glasgow show Jeff has grown on me (he looked like he was falling asleep and looked really cute like a great big fluffy bunny)

Still not convinced about ginger, i was a fan of the halo friendlies YEARS ago and she was my least favourite then too.

Was anybody else shocked when Melissa said "i'd happily step down if D'Arcy wants to come back" but then Melissa didnt end up being in the reunion!!!!

What has the world come to??

I disagree, for me the only pumpkins i'd agree with right now are the original 4 and melissa, so i kind of liked it when Zeitgeist was just BC/JC

Yeh but i wonder what happened? Did she refuse her rightful place as adopted bassist? (a squash not a pumpkin....) i guess she was concentrating on her solo stuff?

I'm gonna assume the incentives for joining the band were below mellissa
it's the music business, people who aren't established are willing to swim through shit to get noticed
and then do 10 more laps of it

then again she has been in the montreal spotlight for a long time
& I'm not sure if the perspective is the same elsewhere...

i guess she had a good night when i saw her.

I'm a die hard D'Arcy fan tho, i know she wasnt the most talented bassist on the planet but the girl had style!

ginger is certianly different im not a huge fan of her but i dont resent her being there shes definatly more tallented than darcy and she had been getting progressivly more rocking she absolutly nails everlasting gaze on this tour as for billys dream of four band members i still class the pumpkins as four plus one they had a keyboardist even as far back as melloncollie tour i dont think lisa will ever be on a record but im almost sure that jeff and ginger will be im not sure whos on the studio version of superchrist ? as fpr jeff looking tierd he always looks tierd and if you look closly during billy solos you can see him counting till he has to come back in again ect he really is brilliant

Ginger is my favorite of the Baby Pumpkins though 'cause she's a Sexican.

I voted yes. I've accepted them all, but I only really embrace Jeff and Lisa. Ginger is a talented bassist, and she's fun to watch live, but there's still just something missing. She just seems a little empty.

hey jeff from above. i'm glad you like him and all but you haven't really explained why? i mean, he is a very good guitarist, though a little robotic i think, but in terms of personality how can you possibly say he even compares with james? james was such a great character and foil for billy. jeff never says a word and just seems really normal, normal to the point where i wouldn't even describe him as "pumpkiny", if you know what i mean. what exactly do you find so special about him.
