most probable scenario: not gonna happen. everyone will start hating each other again and all will implode before the recording takes place.

in the unlikely scenario that it will actually happen, it's gonna be really fucking bad. it's gonna be a watered down version of zeitgeist at best.

Just saw Jimmy at drum festival.

He said the original lineup are "talking about talking" reforming again. I only got audio of it but he said some other funny things like bugg attacking one of the representatives of Virgin when they came to the studio one time.

Also during zeitgeist Billy and Jimmy kept trying to play like they used to. Jimmy had been doing loads of jazz work so had to rediscover what the pumpkins were and what a pumpkins record sounded like. Kind of said this was wrong and should have just played in the moment.

He played PSA and uh I don't remember the name but Night Crawler or something. Then tonight tonight and geek USA.

There were technical issues at the start so time was tight annoyingly. Was amazing to hear him talk.

Will try to upload audio later.

I taped just the audio of the 50 minute set here:

The tracks are pretty much unlistenable but anyway the things he says are awesome.

After OGILALA is WPC's greatest commercial failure with only one week in the BILLBOARD charts at number 183:
Does BILLY still want to release another solo album before the PUMPKINS reunion and then record another album with the band next year too?
Won't happen this way...

BILLY CORGAN in his interview with DANIEL GUMBLE from the PSN EUROPE, November 1, 2017
https://www.psneurope.com/studio/bil...ala-rick-rubin
“Regardless of if I do anything more with the Pumpkins, which is sort of up in the air, I would like to do an acoustic based record every 18 months,” he concludes. “I’ve already written another album to follow up Ogilala, which is just sitting there. The difficulty is working out how this music fits in the world. It’s not easy to get on the radio and all those traditional things - it's hard to market. My great hope is that it will be well enough received that it’ll allow me to do another record. I’d also like to do sessions where I record a lot of my old songs but in acoustic form. So over the next five years I would release 150-200 acoustic versions of my songs. I’ve released 300 so far and there is another 100 that haven’t been released. I could release that on my own label or something. Over time I could compile an alternate record of my songs - acoustic or piano versions as opposed to the more band-like versions. There are a lot of good songs there that have been overlooked because of the time or the production.”

BILLY CORGAN in his interview with JOE ROGAN, November 10, 2017
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sb-m....be&t=1h51m34s
"I'm gonna record another acoustic album and then hopefully next year there'll be a PUMPKINS tour. Hope...-our fingers are crossed."

He should just release the metro dvd instead.

And maybe do some sit ups.

"talking about talking" lol

This is the best thing I've read all year. And you're right. I feel that all this "trying to sing" quiver in his voice takes away from his original tone.

then how about a pessimistic thought, like, you doubt he's been holding out some select material for this very occasion? I don't.

I hope the Pumpkins do this, because then I can see them all on stage one more time and finally bring my active fandom to a close. It's been many many years, and I'm ready to retire. I'll listen to the old stuff and stop asking for or seeking out anything new.

-Nobody's acting like this

-Conversely people are acting like they're going to commit the worst offenses to their ears possible, which isn't true either, TBK already happened

-She said she's been playing again. You don't completely lose everything you have after you spend a decade plus doing it, shouldn't take her long to get back up to speed.

-Best way to approach this is to go in with no expectations. I just want to see what they come up with and catch the band live finally.
