I think I listened to the first episode and half of the second. I appreciate someone is making a podcast about the band, but in the second episode they really started hyping Jeff and I just turned it off. Nothing against Jeff but its all about the original four and everyone knows it. Matt Walker and MADM get honorable mentions

They should interview Netphorians about SP.

Just tried listening again and its pretty unbearable, they're talking about the new singles and lecturing
people that the Pumpkins don't have a traditional/foundational sound, of course they compliment everything about the new singles

Yeah, tried listening again after seeing this post and they were mindlessly hyping everything about the new singles, even going out of their way to talk about how great Linda Strawberry is. It was also funny because they were kept referring to a certain group of fans who are more critical of everything and its clear they're talking about Netphoria

oh god, it's that type of Pumpkins podcast

one more reason for a Netpho one to actually happen, I suppose - so long as Billy is referred to consistently as anything but Billy

Quite enjoyed the Hipsters United one, they got the mild excitement mixed with bewilderment and a growing sense of despair vibe just right

Ok guys, it's not THAT good and I'd much rather listen to a Netphoriacentric podcast. But, I'm running out of ways to escape the dread and reality of the end of the world rn. It's getting harder and harder to pretend like Fuckass wasn't on Alex Jones multiple times.

Happy you're enjoying it. Good thread. Maybe I popped in on the wrong episode, but I couldn't take the praising of Linda Strawberry and the reaffirming of the myth that the Pumpkins have no foundational sound. They were comparing reaction to these songs to early reactions to SD. For the record to the dudes on the podcast, SD does not sound completely different from Gish, it's simply progression, but there's no doubt it's the same band.

Yeah nobody cares that there are different styles of song in fact we damn well enjoyed that aspect probably a lot. There was like raucous pumpkins, blissful pumpkins, sad pumpkins, wistful pumpkins, cathartic screams pumpkins, gentle rain pumpkins, ink the lavender skies pumpkins, you suck dick like a chump pumpkins

And gosh if we didn’t like them all, most of them, many of us!

The problem now is not that theres different style of pumpkins sometimes, it’s simply that the newer styles big willies keep shoven down our throats, as he’s trying to get his brand/dreams back, on the radio or whatever, a style i like to call sucking total fux, just isn’t as fun to listen to, as a lot of the older styles, probably

Or whatever

If someone does it i would like to go on the podcast sometimes

But only if i can participate via post. Like one of you heartless badasses with your bitchen deep sonorous voices can read my post please, on the air

Or worst case scenario i could impersonate a caller and like dick around plus like fuck with u guys while you’re on the air and shit. My character of course will be based on my dad who of the pumpkins said these two things 1) ive seen what they represent, and 2) if they’re wearing leather and convincing young people to have sex they should be drug out into the streets and shot

Why don't you DM the HU staff yourself and see if they respond.
