I think the guitars could be a little lower in the mix, but the cyber-metal tone really works. Could maybe cut out the guitars during the first half of the verse and then bring them back in halfway through the verse for a little dynamic. Did you run the big muff direct? It has that nasty Everlasting Gaze type thing going on

I didn't actually do any bass, I just did three guitar parts and the crappy, completely un-Corgan-esque, ruins-the-whole-song solo.

And yes, I just used a muff (a Big Muff Pi if you must know) which was DI-ed. I played three parts, two of which drop out during the verses and come back during the "stare down your masters" line.

If I'd been inclined to spend more than 5 minutes on it, I could've worked on the dynamics a bit and improved the solo.

Hey man, the solo is dope. Who cares what these internet nerds think.
It's just everything is too loud. Pull back your guitar a bit and pan them left and right to a degree based on your taste.
Then boost your solo, leave it in the middle.
Leave the verse guitar in the center.

Iha's parts can float through the mix depending.
Welcome to the pumpkins

That's exactly how I mixed it. Two big guitars hard left and right. Verse guitar is in the middle. And so's the solo.

Can't do any more with it now as I deleted the session. :-)

lol at these guitar players in here telling another guitarist how they should do it. like do it or shut up.

but yeah solo is great and this sounds rad. almost sounds like this song could have been a big fuzzy guitar wash hence being shoe gaze, which is what i believe BC said this record was going to be

I wasn't saying you did something wrong, I was just saying that's pretty much how you mix the pumpkins. Again. It's dope

Gingers song is better than anything Corgan has done in like 15 years.

Aw shucks. Well... if I have time I might do the whole track and do a proper mix, and maybe give Colour of Love a go as well. It would be better to have the individual track stems to work with though, rather than just playing over the master. I know there's software that allows you to isolate the parts but it never works that well. I did it before when I remixed Doomsday Clock.

What we *really* need is a Corgan impersonator who can sing the new songs in the old style. Then we won't need Billy anymore, we can just make our own SP tracks.

Kind of neat, but wholly unnecessary. The original is much better. It just doesn't sound right this way.

I liked it. Yeah blah blah the solo, but apart from that I just thought it sounded crunchier. I could imagine it being a demo/b-side that got too polished on release. Wouldn't mind seeing you try out Colour of Love too.

Give the band a call, I don't see why we can't have 4 guitarists anyway.

Problem is, I'm tall and bald. Billy wouldn't have that. Unless I *replaced* Billy - that might work.

I don't know man, don't forget the famous bald guys Adore tour. You had Billy, Aronoff, Garson and another balding dude. You could be in good company. It would probably help if you could be Asian too. Could you be Asian?

Writing back to ask if you’ve had time? Those fuzz guitars aren’t going to record themselves...

Just to get back to you, no I never did anything further. That's not to say I won't though, I just sort of ran out of interest in it.

I had thought Save Your Tears would've been a good one to do, I can hear big guitars coming in on the "swoon" part.

But because the songs have very little room for instrumentation, there wouldn't have been a lot that could be done over them.
