it's a steroid. steroids treat inflammation. but they also can hurt how effective the immune system is, but if you're going to die from inflammation it's better to get rid of it, obviously

i take two (weak) steroids every day, for allergies and asthma. and whenever i get bad i either get prednisone (or prednisolone) or in hospital they usually use high doses of IV salmeterol. but i haven't had it really bad for a while

they make you hungry as hell btw

the dose that was tested is not terribly high, and it was in a six-arm RCT so the results should be pretty reliable. 30% less mortality.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on face shields? Bought one to go with my mask. Been wearing it out, have had people positively or curiously ask about it, where they can get one, etc. I’ve read a lot about how combined with a mask it’s pretty good.
