Yes, they took food etc. set aside for SP. BC was on a very strict diet at the time and would only eat certain foods at certain times (i.e. bok choy), so it was a bit of a problem.

And they also destroyed furniture, equipment, ruined the band space, were hostile and threatening to Orange Peel staff and openly insulted BC & SP when asked about their behavior.

It was not just water. They were absolute assholes.

If this were true, why didn’t Billy respond to Cox’s story with the explanation about how Deerhunter were treating staff badly and being assholes etc - as opposed to leaving the story unchallenged (that he summoned Cox on stage in front of a camera and told him to “get off my water!”) and deploying his lawyers.

Vitaldust is 100% correct. When I saw them in early 2016 in Athens, Georgia, someone asked him about this after the show. He basically admitted to everything Vitaldust said and seemed quite amused by all the publicity he got from the incident. Cox is essentially Billy Corgan if Corgan actually lived with the "integrity" and "fuck you" attitude he loves to claim he has.

Cox is also an insufferable asshole like Corgan.
