how about when the first EP was finished and there was radio silence for NINE MONTHS before the next song was released?

some people posting in this thread are absolutely deranged. save for Tom Tom and Freak, nothing here even approaches mediocre. it's literally the worst album I have ever heard. it's so bad it's repulsive. it makes me sick even remembering how painful it was to live through that period as a fan. you people are sick. you need help. even fuzzyroes can see the truth here. open your eyes

i could forgive Zeitgeist, despite hating it. or at least ignore it and pretend the story was over after m2. but no, then this. and then ALL of this.

Hard to believe it was that long ago... Really illustrates the artistic degeneration for Billy Corgan, especially when considering Gish-MCIS era was within a 5 year period.

idk the fact that everyone agrees there's like 2 salvageable songs on TBK but nobody agrees which 2 they are suggests there might have been something there

I am partial towards Lightning Strikes and Stitch in Time

This is how TBK should have sounded:

I prefer the guitar intro and verses here, but the chorus doesn’t have the same punch as the studio version.

It’s one of those songs you imagine could’ve been a minor hit in an alternate timeline where Billy didn’t piss everything away chasing that “radio hit sound” that no radio ever plays.

that's a really good way of describing his downfall as an artist: the need to put that commercial sheen on everything.

Spangled's a tough one cos it's got both the worst & best qualities of anything Teargarden, when it really gets goin' it's not bad tho

Alright but imagine if it was a Figure 8-era Elliott Smith song.

Teargarden tracks sound like music made by a man who has not enjoyed other's music in decades.

My teargarden playlist goes:

1. Teargarden Theme
2. Stitch in Time
3. Lightning Strikes
4. Freak
5. Owata
6. Astral Planes
7. WWMM
8. The Fellowship
9. Tom Tom
10. Spangled
11. Cottonwood Symphony

I've listened to it 14 times according to the stats.

Like... Teargarden Theme sounds like classic Pumpkins. Elswhere the riffs and lyrics are solid and yet it all sounds like ass.
Owata is an abomination when it should be the highlight.

If only we could get '95 Billy to revisit his post-2003 catalogue.

I think Tom Tom and Owata are just bad songs that sound bad in every incarnation

The Fellowship was fun live as an opener

Cottonwood Symphony is a pretty song despite the Alex Jonesian dumbassery feel like on Freak

there were better Clock Society songs like Make it Happen and When the Cocks Crow that even with bad takes in the studio would have made a 3rd TBK EP pretty good
