To Sheila is the best acoustic SP song hands down (even though the recording is not really all acoustic). The only question is does it break the top five ever, or just the top ten?

Also what do we think about the banjos? Bill does not play banjo, so I'm thinking it's either some sort of resonator guitar or it's a guitjo type deal with a banjo head and a six string guitar setup

I will say the banjos part with "lately I just can't seem to believe" is probably the most moving section of any song Bill has ever written to me. I don't even know how to describe the bittersweet ecstasy as those two banjo things ascend right after "change the scenery"

This might be one of the most overrated songs in the canon.

I mean sure, it's a pretty good song for what it is. It's nice and folksy and everything, but it's really nothing all that special. It's simply alright.

Wrong... So so wrong.

Disarm, 33, Farewell and Goodnight are a few that come to mind that are much better.

omg so much to sheila hatred

i mean i love most of those songs you guys mentioned (33, whir, sweet bsides like medellia), but to sheila is either top five or top ten for me. definitely the best song on adore, even better than that magnificent outro (Shame, Nitemare, For Martha, Blank Page).

i don't hate sheila at all, but when i first got Adore, i was going into it as the pumpkins' electronic album. the songs that were more acoustic weren't quite as of interest to me at the time, & even tho i've grown to appreciate them greatly since, it's still not all that different
