Default going to the laundromat sucks...

but that feeling you got when you've done all of your clothes and hung/folded them and you know you don't have to worry about laundry again for two weeks... priceless

i'm terrible at folding laundry.

laundromat does indeed suck. don't know how i did it so many years. when my husband and i were looking for a new place in-house laundry was a requirement. i appreciate it so much more now! 6 months of laundry bliss so far

the w/d here is on-site but not in our apt. so we need to walk down a few flights of stairs. really sucks during the winter, but otherwise it's nbd.

in between i wash things like t-shirts, workout clothes, and my own chonies in the bathtub.

Yeah.. I had to sell my washer and dryer when I moved out of my house. Man do I miss them. I love to do laundry, hate to do dishes.

word. i know i'd enjoy laundry a lot more if i could do without hauling it down three flights of stairs.

when i lived alone i would sometimes on a whim pull out and iron all my clothes.

what i hate about my complex's landromat is when you need to wash a few items to wear the next day and you go in there to find some jackass has gone whole hog on washing every piece of clothing he owns all at once taking up every machine

i've had some washing and drying sessions go until 2 in the morning because of that shit

complex laundromats aren't so bad

it's when you rent a house and your washing machine busts and the one up the street from you smells like homeless people use the washers to take massive shits in so you have to drive all the way to hyde park for one that doesn't smell like feces but then you're hanging out with all these boozhy pieces of shit between 3 bars and a vegan bakery

i use a laundromat up the road because i'm pretty sure the washer and dryer in my haunted basement do not work. someone stole some of my clothes once so now I have to sit there the entire time and wait and watch, guard really. fuck.

the laundromat i went to for 2.5 years up until 6 mos ago had old chinese men smoking and gambling in the back room. also had to carry my laundry up and down 3 flights of stairs. those were the days! so much bejeweled blitz.

my last complex was so ghetto homelss people would squat in there sometimes. really shouldn't have washed my clothes in there but it was next to my unit and i'm lazy. i could write a book about my experience in that laundromat, much less about the entire complex

i remember when i finally made enough to move the fuck outta therae on my very last night there i went into the laundromat to get my clothes out the wash and some shirtless jeffrey dahmer looking dude came up to me with a box cutter yelling about using all the machines (even though three weren't being used iirc) and he had an important interview the next morning blah blah.. i was like look dude its my last day here please let me get out of here alive and he threw all my (wet) clothes at me and told me to fuck off

it would have ended up like the cop who dies with only obe day til retirement

I never felt white privilege harder than when our dryer temporarily broke and I had to suffer the cesspool that was the nearest laundromat

we have a washer and dryer in the house but the washer is broken and we don't want to invite the maintenance guy up or else he'll see all the animals which we don't have on the lease.

i usually just bring a math book to the laundromat and time passes sufficiently fast.

Two weeks?

I must not have enough clothes, or don't wear clothes in enough consecutive days.

i've never used a laundromat washing machine. the first thing i bought when i moved out of my parents' place was a washing machine. the dryer came a couple of months later.

it seems weird to share a washing machine with strangers.

When I moved having a washer was the minimum requirement. I don't have a dryer but I have an electric towel dryer in the bathroom which dries my clothes pretty quickly. I don't love it but oh well. My mom is always so offended with me when I tell her I don't iron my jeans. Do you iron your jeans?!

I made sure I had enough clothes to last that long. Only clothes I re-wear are my one pair of jeans (2-3 days) and sometimes some work pants if it was a short shift and I work the next day.

This way it's like two hours every two weeks and done. I do wash a work uniform (shirt) in the sink once in a while. I have 10 pairs of black pants and 5 other pants, a ton of t-shits and some misc shirts. Oh and a fuck load of underwear and socks. Like 25 pairs of each.

i don't iron anything. wearing stuff gets most creases out, i find.

the only thing that gets ironed is a shirt, right before i wear it. which is likie twice a year or so. and if it's not an important enough occasion and i'm feeling a bit lazy, i'll even skip the ironing.

Only thing I iron are button up shirts because they're supposed to look neat and nice.
