In the beginning of the year I was working two jobs (I've since left Home Depot to take an intense internship) and going to school, and because of that and many other factors I've learned to appreciate things that work well and are cheap. I'll let you enjoy your little housewife pleasures, ******. If only you got a second opinion for Elsa instead of blowing more rent money on a place with granite countertops.

knowing how to cooking for oneself isn't a housewife pleasure (don't be sexist). it's just a pleasure and something everything should learn to do. you're just mad cause you don't know how even though you have all this cookware we should all be jealous of.

Just never been interested, and if there's someone around who loves it and is wayyyyyy better than I'd ever be absent years of my own practice, I see no need to invest in this skill at this time

So F your cooking thread, let's bump the thread for slobs and mooches

those pots are definitely for life and many other lifes

the pots were shared amongst me and my two brothers, and now i'm trying to get all of them
they don't work on induction cookers
one brother already gave his share to me afer changing to induction
now i'm patiently waiting for the rest

no descoware

this is the brand, but it looks nothing like this, to be honest: http://www.amc.info/en-us/products/classics/#pots
my pots are at least 35 years old, if not a lot older

awesome. you can get em much hotter than any normal household oven, which is perfect for pizzas.

the outdoor aspect is ideal, as you mention, plus i would enjoy the ritual of preparing it each time

and building it would be a lot of fun. good for tim's family!

The amount of $ I've spent on disposable teflon cookware is probably double the amount I recently spent on a small set of 80+ year old cast iron skillets that will outlast me. In theory I only need one more enamelware stock pot and I'm set for life.

But to be honest vintage cast iron cookware is kind of fun to hunt for and collect, so even if I acquire more pieces down the line I can always sell some for $$.
