MARILYN MANSON started a week earlier with his new record HEAVEN UPSIDE DOWN very good on Nr. 8, but fell down this week to 84. Will CORGAN survive in the BILLBOARD 200 next week...?

In the charts it's a Zero...

Looking at today's BILLBOARD charts "WPC" has already left the building. The new commercial low of WILLIAM PATRICK CORGAN. Only one week in the charts, not even in the 100. He also hasn't got into the Top 100 in Britain and maybe therefore anywhere else.
The rest of the solo tour could be painful.

At least it's a good day for the possibility of a reunion of the original SMASHING PUMPKINS now...

I guess it's how others feel about crying tree of mercury, that I love.

I just listened to all these songs that I dislike, and I stand by my statement. and now I've got oggi queued up and playing - those shitty songs put oggi songs to shame. billy's completely lost it.

Couldn't agree more, it being acoustic doesn't mean it's bad.

Yer nuts. That song is the highlight of the album for me. It's one of the few Zwan songs that I could see fitting alongside the other OG material.

I've gotta disagree with you here. I think the vibe and overall body of work is better on Monuments. I'm actually a little surprised that it's as hated as it is around here. That Zwan record was the first time that I ever felt the "cringe factor" from BC's music (actually that single on the greatest hits album was pretty corny too).

To be fair, aside from the 3 songs I mentioned, I haven't listened to the Zwan album in I don't know how long. It's possible that it hasn't aged as bad as I'd expect, but I really have no desire to wanna listen to it again.

I don't know what Iha did on that one song he was on for Corgans solo record, but it's worth noting that it's the most atmospheric song on the record.

I still get the feeling that Iha's been grossly undervalued regarding his input by the fan community. People will argue to they're blue in the face about how he didn't contribute anything but the proofs in the pudding.

if you listen again let me know. at the very least Endless Summer, Desire, and MSOTS blow MTAE out of the water

oh, we know. and d'arcy had input that was worth gold. someone had to mock billy out of exercising all his stupid ideas. and it made for a better band.

James started the band with Billy. There is no tsp without James.

Darcy... maybe if she could actually play her instrument she would matter.

Oh yeah, Desire and MSOTS are the only 2 songs that I didn't delete and still have on my portable music player. I've gotta be honest though, I've always hated Endless Summer

Dude, do you always have to be so sexist? She could play her instrument just fine. Sure, she clearly wasn't some virtuoso but she did a good job of playing what the music called for.

Don't turn this into a social justice warrior diatribe. I'm not one to defend FoolofaTook, but there was nothing in his post to suggest he was being sexist. He was just pointing out something that has floating around the fandome for quite some time.

D'arcy's ability to play has always been suspect at best, and there appears to have been a paucity of songs that she actually performed on.

endless summer is a great song because it turns the endless summer everything is great trope on its head and turns it into "why won't this terrible summer fucking end"

plus it just sounds really good imo

oh this is what he does any chance he gets. it is completely tiring. like I'm also not a fan of the current zeitgeist of far-right populism and everything it brings along with it, but sometimes people just want to discuss a different subject.
