I go see pretty much every superhero movie ever because I have friends who love that stuff and we getting to hang out is worth it even if I have to sit through some shitty movie.

I've become so numb to comic book/superhero movies that I don't even know if I dislike them. They just pass through me like red lettuce at this point.

Like, I probably would've liked Spider-Boy Comes Home more if we hadn't already had those shitty I Hate Mondays Spider-Man movies and if there wasn't a new superhero movie coming out every weekend.

I loved homecoming!
What about Thor Ragnarok?

or did you come so far and tried so hard to like superhero movies, but in the end it doesn't even matter?

I haven't Thorred. I never saw the first two and even though the newest looks good, I really don't want to sit through five hours of stuff I don't care about just so I can understand what's happening.

I do love both GOTG though.

Water cooler buzz is just about the only thing those movies have going for them.

Don't be left out by not experiencing that one thing that everybody else is experiencing because there's not a bus in town not wearing the poster for it.

Lmao. It's really extraordinary how Billy just annihilated any goodwill he had left from his fan-base.

I was really stoked when they reunited, and really dug the tour, and thought Zeitgeist was a really good return statement. I was fully on board with the new lineup and it's astounding how Billy managed to crush almost all of my interest over these past 9 years.

I'm happy Jimmy is finally back and all, but at this point, I'm too jaded to really be excited anymore. I guess I'll just have to wait and hear what the new music's like.

I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives In The House - B+

A glacially slow, very poetic and literary horror film, but god damn is it full of dread. Extremely tense if you absorb yourself in it. I can see why the reviews are so polarizing.
It's by the guy who did Blackcoat's Daughter which is also very good.

It - C+
Not bad but horribly overrated. Some of the effects were overdone, and I disagree with how they handled Pennywise's character, but that said it was far superior to the 1990 version.

Even not being a particularly great movie, IT scared the hell out of me.
Bummer they went for so many jump scares and jittery motion stuff. It really detracted from the overall mood.

Same here, I'm more for an overall creepy aesthetic, than a few good jump scares. Looking for something's that'll linger in my thoughts and haunt me for months, rather than a mini heart attack every two seconds.

Blade Runner

Sadly for me this is another one of those movies like with high critical praise that I am doomed to not "get". It's so frustrating when this happens. I hate not being a film buff sometimes.

This is much more common than you might imagine.
It flopped, originally. Ridley Scott was ahead of his time when he made the film. Watch it again after a while, one viewing for this film, I've noticed, is not enough. It's a very influential one. I read somewhere that David Fincher wanted to film Seven in the same dark setting.

Check out 2049 after you watch the original more time.
Also, here's a great place to go to for all your film buff needs:

I could link you to a torrent file, I'll upload it to my drive. 720p or 1080p?

Thor: Ragnarok

Finally. Fuck yeah.
8/10 movie, best in the Thor franchise, did for Thor what The Winter Soldier did for Captain America.
Taika Waititi, and surprisingly, Jeff Goldblum delivered. I liked how weird his character is.
Pretty funny, had that MCU touch to it. More than made up for the absolute piece of garbage that is The Dark World. Loved [spoiler, highlight] Doctor Strange's cameo.
Fuck DC, as of now. They cannot make movies. They should get Nolan to direct a film for them, get them back on track.
Marvel, on the other hand...

You should check it out, because it's all interconnected, and this time Thor would be related to the new GOTG and the new Avengers film. Just saying. Second one is very crappy, but still somewhat essential to understand the plot. Chris Hemsworth is the perfect fit for the role. I'm somewhat disappointed that it's not more like the comics, but MCU is changing everything. The Ancient One from Doctor Strange was played by Tilda Swinton, FFS. Not that I'm complaining.
(you could just read the synopsis on IMDb for the second one, if you're really short on time, although I'd say you should just watch the movie(s) and get it over with, FWIW)

Yeah man, Superbad is awesome. I like Seth Rogen's work from around a decade ago. Almost everything he made then was great.
