very different, but good. home is really poppy and uplifting, to forgive is depressing and shame is just really....atmospheric

you mean shame is the depressing one here...it's one of the most depressing SP songs I know. Excellent song though...

The line,"once my words were dangerous, now they just seem blastphemous" that is off the charts in describing the perils of growng up and finding your way thru this world...and I could pull like 10 more. And the oooh oooh oooh ooohhs!! Coolest thing ever!! You gotta love it! I've loved this song since I first heard it in Real Audio on the S-P.net like 4 years ago...and it still rocks justs as hard!

The song has a quality that I think usually makes into some of the best SP songs...songs like on Siamese and Gish where the songs are serious but they're fun too! I can't understand why this song (and way too many of the pre-gishers) just sat and collected dust...This could've been a finalle song live!

And this song never gets talked about.
I'm sorry, but that's because that one really sucks.

Yeah, I'm not fond of `Believe', it sounds like an ad for a bank or something. I don't mind some of his other SP songs - especially The Boy.

http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/biggrin.gif to Appels + Oranjes and Pug, especially Pug! I could also say For Martha - not because it's neglected necessarily, but because it doesn't seem to be recognised as one of Billy's all-time finest pieces of songwriting, which I think it is! Would have made an incredible single.

Right now, my favorite semi-underated songs are Pennies and Jennifer Ever. Also, (sorry to mention Zwan on the SP board hehe) I'm really loving Revolve but I never hear anyone else mention it when talking about Zwan.

Here's an interesting thought: Pug, but with the video for Ava Adore. I think it would have suited it quite well. During the choruses they could have opened the door and walked into an outdoor space - a little like Crowded House's video for `Don't Dream It's Over'.

Just a thought http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/smile.gif

Underrated song #2: Billy's version of `My Blue Heaven'. That's beautiful.

How did they ruin it? The m2 and Arising versions aren't very different from each other at all.

As for overlooked... I'd say a lot of the Judas O stuff i.e. saturnine, waiting, winterlong and the like. Also ascendo, siamese dream, transformer and the last song. And dammit, I love parts of Machina. Mmm... virex...
