i'd watched III many years ago and i don't remember it being that bad. people shit all over that one like it's they're getting free ice cream for it. the theme of being older and wiser and trying to make things right and to avoid bloodshed appeals to me, especially in a trilogy that clearly deals with mob life and started out basically glorifying it.

Early Twatter buzz on the new Blade Runner is pretty damn good. Looking forward to seeing firsthand whether or not it lives up to its predecessor next week.

I saw Logan. it was entertaining and kind of cool I guess but the characters weren't great.
Huge Ackman basically played a generic version of the rugged, grumpy guy with a small heart that seems to be popular as a protagonist in lots of films and series |

Just watched the Transformers that's new on DVD the other day. It's actually pretty dope.
I know Wahlbergs a douche, but he's great in the role. Fun movie if you wanna enjoy a little action. |

Baby Driver - 4/5
Editing was so good, I love the way every scene is basically set up like a music video. Movie got styyyYYYYyyle, unfortunately the story could've been a little bit better, but good fun nonetheless. Gerald's Game - 5/5 Holy crap was this movie good. Great acting by both actors and real tense all the way through. There's a total WTF AM I LOOKING AT moment near the end that destroyed me. |

Are you saying that because of his hate crime convictions or more because of his douchey face and that stupid show about his brother's burger joint?

the hate crime shit. I had no idea about any of that until someone ripped on me here for complimenting him. To be fair, he was just a kid at the time, I like to imagine that he's evolved. But who the hell knows.

Officer K: A Blade Runner Story
Similar to Arrival (the director's previous movie) a little slow to start but packs a huge emotional punch at the end. Builds on the previous movie's universe in a way that feels natural instead of forced, in both style and substance. And fuck, is there a lot of both. Deep, deep shit in this movie. I'd say more, but I don't want to give anything away. Going in as ignorant of the plot as possible is how this movie needs to be experienced. Expect surprises and interesting philosophical and moral questions about humanity. My fear going in was, this would be some contrived, bastardized shell of the original movie that some clueless film execs came up with. It wasn't. It's at the same time its own unique vision and completely faithful to the original, and unlike so many cash grab sequels out there, it has a soul. This is a hard sci-fi movie (albeit one with a budget that most hard sci-fi movies lack), so if you're expecting a shoot-em-up action romp, look elsewhere. If you were a fan of the first movie, it's in that vein (with a touch more adrenaline). The future is bleak and dreary, but it's never been more beautiful. Give the cinematographer and production designer some goddamned awards. Oh, and Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford are amazing. Go see this bullshit. Best movie of the year so far. Not perfect, but damn close. A Last edited by Tchocky : 10-06-2017 at 11:03 PM. |
