I love many Americans, but this guy is a pandering clown - his humour is forced (scripted yes I know) but his endless gurning remind me of an embarrassing uncle. Real Scotsmen make jokes about substance abuse, casual racism and the disabled.

Now that I think about it, when I first saw him they just played some of his monologues as ads for the show and I thought he was boring and not funny at all. But somehow he grew on me, between the check the tweets stuff and the interviews and now I like him.

He makes jokes about all that stuff all the time, if he didn't there's no way I'd find him funny.

Drowned badger haha

Craig Ferguson's a pretty great interviewer, you gotta admit. People really open up around him and laugh the shit out of his jokes.

kurt was probably a huge pain in the ass by then, whining about being popular, and a real downer to be around. dave wanted his own band, kvrist is an absolute slacker and didn't expect to be famous in the first place and then kurt shot himself in the face saving everyone the trouble of declaring their inexplicably popular derivative turdrock band over with

put the melvins and the pixies in the blender and you come out with nirvana. i didn't like them then, i absolutely detest them now. what overrated nostalgic teenage horseshit.

By 1993, a rift had formed in the band--the alcoholics VS. the heroin-users. Dave & Krist and their people on one side, and Kurt & Courtney and their people on the other. Kurt's isolation with Courtney to go off and shoot up was cracking the musical bond the three band-members had initially created. Also, some of Kurt's last interviews kind of dismissed Dave and Krist's importance in the band.

So what you're saying - had Kurt not killed himself, you'd be looking at BC 2012?

While Nevermind is a solid album, and sounds less antiquated today then Ten does, both of those albums pale to Siamese Dream. It really is the king of those three albums, which for some reason, just naturally "fit" together in my brain.

Krist really is just a fuckin slacker that got lucky man come on

dave's talented even tho i don't like foo fightars but what did krist do for a follow up? tour with dogstar, keanu reeves' band. that is a definite slacker move. here's a band going nowere i won't have to work at and we get paid shit tons because keanu is really really popular right now. cha-ching!

I feel like this about Nirvana in general, but think that In Utero is probably one of the best albums of that period. Still pretty solid.

Although Nirvana has been completely overdone to me at this point, I still think they were a pretty great band. I listened to In Utero a few times recently and it still sounds great. Milk It is just like a kick in the fucking teeth.

I'm not sure about it sounding less antiquated than Ten. I guess maybe because so much shitty post-grunge has been Nirvana-derivative, whereas the whole Neil Young influenced Ten sound kind of died away, Nirvana still sounds more "current?" Not sure. I guess Ten does sound pretty 90s, but I always consider that a good thing. Ten is a kickass record

yeah the person i disagree with just to annoy is correct, ten is pretty solid still even i'll say that. the crust and imitators have tarnished it a bit but BLACK. come on that shit is CRAY.

i like the 1990 demos a bit more but it's a great album.
the outtakes/b-sides are just as good [breath, state of love and trust, wash, alone, yellow ledbetter, footsteps, dirty frank, just a girl, brother]

Fuck in utero. Unplugged in new York is one of the best recordings ever. I liked nirvana a lot and still do.

Pearl jam ten is still great even if it has been thrashed and I can't play it without my adolescence coming back to me in all its horror and glory. I was more of a vs. Girl back in the day though. For obvious reasons.

I'll tell you two completely overrated bands, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

Here's another: Pink Floyd.
