Arrow The Malware Warning Problem

As you have probably already noticed the forums have been tagged with a Malware warning on Firefox, Google Chrome browsers as well as the Google Search engine.

I have been trying all day to figure out the problem and believe I've finally found it. At first you are probably thinking it was the Ads that were causing it but that is not the case.

What actually happened was that there was a security hole with the vbseo plugin for vbulletin which allowed them to insert an iframe code to all the pages. This was a difficult problem to track down as no filenames were modified, no standard templates changed, etc...

Now that the bad code is off the page I have appealed to Google for review and removal of the warning. It should be off and back to normal tomorrow hopefully.

On a side note, I will moving the forums to a new server this weekend and will be upgrading the forums to version 4 a week after that.

i found this in some forum, i did it and it worked

" Escriban about:cache en Firefox, vean la ubicación del cache, abran esa carpeta y suban un nivel, van a ver un archivo urlclassifier3.sqlite cierren Firefox, borren ese archivo y al abrir ya no tendrán problema "

Type about: cache in Firefox, see the location of the cache, open that folder and go up a level, you'll see a file (urlclassifier3.sqlite) quit Firefox, delete the file and you will have no problem

Good, it's nice to see there's actually no threat at all.

Not sure if you're aware that this problem also exists with Safari as of right now.

I not sure that is true. My virus scanner (AVG) caught a virus file that tried to load onto my computer when I access the Netphoria forum 4 days ago.

I actually am going to miss the viruses. It was always nice to know I could surf to netphoria on a computer owned by an enemy and guarantee that computer's death. I mean, I had shit tons of protection on my personal machine to come here, but I've left a trail of dead computers all around the world thanks to netphoria! It seems so innocent, too!

Yah, google hates Netphoria again. I only surf Netphoria from work on Macs behind god-knows how many layers of corpoarate protection. But even then, I only use the Macs and not the PCs.

This is pretty annoying. Not annoying enough that I'd actually consider using IE, but still, pretty annoying.

The warnings should be gone now.

It was still lingering on some pages yesterday but it should now be gone for the entire site.
