Why do you come here?
Why do you hang around?
For me it's the insightful dialogue on destroying the cis straight normative and sex positive banter. And also The Smiths. I love that band. |

Yeah, The Smiths keep me coming back too. Shame that the singer is so insufferable.

Also nostalgia, having made actual friends here, boredom. I used to discover new music here back in the day that people with taste still posted.

Meat > Smiths > Queen > Strange
because Vicar in a Tutu sucks making Queen the first with a bad song hot take but I like Strangeways just as much, on some days Last edited by Elphenor : 09-06-2018 at 12:35 PM. |

Strange is probably the most consistently on the bottom of peoples rankings but I do love the majority of it

Strange is probably the most boring and I feel like it was probably hard for them to follow up Queen... also wasn't the band collapsing at that point? Regardless, we're only picking the weakest of 4 great albums. |

Never Had No One ever is another song on Queen that's just a bridge too far for me
it's lacking in anything clever it's just an eye roller that goes on way too long Strangeway's Last Night I Dreamt Somebody Loved Me, is an infinitely better take on the same subject |

I agree that Last Night is a better song than Never Had

I always wondered what a whole album of songs like Suffer Little Children and The Hand that Rocks the Cradle would have been like
it's like they were almost a gothic post punk group it's also a big shame we never got to hear what Strangeways songs sound like live that concludes my Smiths opinions thank you |

at least solo Moz "carried the torch" for the later Smiths stuff. One of the most successful transitions into solo-artistdom off a successful band I can think of rn

Some of Morrissey's solo stuff is as good as The Smiths, but he has never played or recorded with another band that matches him as well as The Smiths

I've seen Morrissey live a couple times both times show ended early from uncontrollable stage invasion
I like some of his solo songs but I'd never say they got anywhere near Smiths level that's just me |

I agree, Johnny Marr is a very good guitarist, and the other two in the band weren't bad either. It's a shame Johnny Marr can't write decent lyrics.
