As compared to other developed democracies CA is still not even liberal. It isn't this liberal paradise state or anything like conservatives seem to think, it just isn't stupidly fascist like half of the country.

And that only really applies to certain areas near the coasts. There's still plenty of conservative cities in CA.

not even liberal??? compared to what? Look, Democrats have had a super majority in this state for almost 20 years now. It's a fiscal nightmare as result on the prime mistake liberals all make: the failure to realize a government job CANNOT be created at a tax surplus.

But that never stops Liberals from using cliche'd emotional arguments to obfuscate the hard math and keep on using taxpayer money for their socialist dreams.

Most people are not really into politics and as a result aren't left or right. The bulk of the population sways back and forth.
This goes for Californians as well.

The only difference is the Coastal parts of CA are strongly socially liberal.

If you look at California's most recent governors they've been pretty much 60/40 with Republicans getting the edge.

Even Texas major cities are liberal. Houston has an openly lesbian Democrat who lives with her "life partner" mayor. Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio usually go blue in presidential elections.

Michigan hasent voted republican for president since the 80s. Obama easily won here in 2012, but if rhis had been in effect Romney would have won a majority of Electoral votes. If this goes through expect it to come up next year in any state where Obama won but the GOP controls the state legislature
