Since quitting I feel like I am getting less headaches, feel less dehydrated (hard to explain), enjoy knowing that I don't stink in corporate settings, and have noticed slightly better breathing. As a smoker, if I take a really fast and deep breath I'll cough a little but now I don't have that problem and deep breaths feel better. In two months I'll have a pulmonary lung function test as part of a physical for work so I'm anxious to see how my results compare to previous years.
When I first quit my digestion went totally crazy...some constipation, sour stomach all the time, and horrific smelling gas (but somewhat enjoyable at the same time of course). Anyone else have these issues? |

I didn't. How long did those symptoms last?
My breathing is definitely better, my sense of smell works again and it is very nice to know I don't smell like cigarettes. edit: i have stomach problems fairly regularly so it's possible withdrawal did cause some and I just didn't connect it. |

I quit seven years ago and I still miss it. When I smoke now though, I feel sick.

so i haven't been able to get over the hurdle
i haven't gone more than two days without one. and i'm still smoking when drinking. i just broke down and ordered an e-cig starter kit. even when i had a crappy disposable one it helped... so i'm hoping this will be enough to get me to stop for good. not the cheapest thing in the world, but what can you do. if it works it'll pay for itself in.... i dunno a few months. |

52 days clean (accidentally smoked two cigarettes though)
cigs not smoked: 1,041 $ saved: $417 Still tough but getting there and I am weaning myself off Nicoderm patches. I will not consider this a success until day 100. |

right on.
i'm closing in on two months. i miss the act of smoking but the thought/smell grosses me out now. E- have you tried gum? it's not a miracle worker or anything but i have used it in the past and it does help take the edge off. |

i haven't. but i still really enjoy the throat hit. and the gum really isn't much cheaper (if at all) than the e-cig stuff. so i went that route instead.

also i've been smoking pretty regularly for... almost 7 years now (fuck how did that happen), and i have never understood how smoking a pack a day works.
i smoked a pack in one day one time. high school senior year spring break in ft. myers. and i was drunk all day. |

been smoking since 2001, heavily since 05, tried to stop several times, and i'm trying to quit as of a few mins ago lol...we'll see how that goes. i can't do the gum thing [tho i do have some] it just makes me insane and want to smoke even more.
i'm drinking a big ass glass of hot water, i think it's helping a bit. |

so the e-cig kit came on march 27. last cig was march 26. on most days i'll take a few drags on the e-cig and nothing more. if i'm drinking it'll probably be closer to the equivalent of a couple cigarettes. the best thing is that i can just take a couple drags and stop. with a real cig i'd feel like i had to finish the whole thing.
this has been incredibly easy so far. i'm still hacking up stuff when i wake up. but i'm hoping that subsides eventually. i made a mistake getting the variety pack of flavors, because the chocolate, vanilla, and cherry ones are all awful. menthol is ok. tobacco is surprisingly pleasant. |
