got free tickets dumped on me and am wondering if I should go after all, how long is each set? is it always the same first Ogi set, or does he vary the new-ish songs, too?

The Ogilala set is about 45-odd minutes, there's a 10 minute intermission afterwards, then about another hour I'd say. Doesn't seem to have been any variation in the first set at all, it's the whole album in order, then the cover, same as Toronto.

If it's free I'd definitely go, he seems to be bringing out some interesting surprises during the second set every night, but I've got more of a tolerance for the man than some here.

Just bring shades if you're in the orchestra pit area because you're going to go blind from the friggin' lights.

thanks!
cool, I actually would like to hear the entire new album live since I just don't "get" any of the songs as album tracks. which is nothing unusual, been that way since the Machina album vs. tour for me.

I'll bring shades, I still prefer to go blind over going deaf!

It's just...for all these years I kept going to gigs over and over again and one silly reason was always one factor - to hear a few songs off my "bucket list" I have never heard live.
So with these setlists now, there might be a chance, and then I will have to cry if I find out Once in a While was played at a gig where I could have gone and didn't!

I like the album a lot, but hearing it in context & in order was really wonderful. The crowd in Delaware LOVED it - gave Bill a standing ovation when he said "that was the new album, Ogilala."

Once In a While'd be really nice to hear. I love that one.

He seems to be in a pretty good mood for the most part during these shows, starts out all somber and straightforward during the Ogilala set and then starts cracking jokes and jibes with the audience about the old stuff. Still hates it when people shout out requests.

Major downpoint for me was that he fucking FLEW through Thirty-Three though, and it ruined it for me.

Looking at the Murmurr setlist from Oct. 11th, which was the first of two nights in the city, last night's first night in Chicago is almost identical with the exception of Columbus instead of Come Undone.

The second night's 2nd setlist was:

Oceania
Thirty-Three
La Dolly Vita
Now (And Then)
Disarm
To Sheila
After the Gold Rush (Neil Young)
Full Sail
Tiberius
Try, Try, Try
Friends as Lovers, Lovers as Friends
Eye
Box of Rain (Grateful Dead)
1979

For God and Country
Today
Soot and Stars

I'm going to say expect something very close to that for the second night in Chicago tonight.

I have tickets for the first of the LA gigs, maybe there will be some set changes for these 3, too, who knows.

just made up my mind, I can think of many ways to spend a shittier evening in LA than sitting at a gig like this, so why the hell not. As long as he's not talking, I should be good lol.

Don't miss the chance to see MILEY CYRUS entering the stage to sing WRECKING BALL with old WILLIE...

eh, I'd like to miss that scenario.

the only relevance Cyrus has for me is that she comes up in the lyrics to one of my favorite songs.

CHICAGO
Jeff didn't get the opportunity to be his guest for a song?

I'm sure we'll see a hilarious duel with MILEY CYRUS in L.A...

Quite a few isolated solo tracks from down the years over the past few nights. Who knows, maybe ChicagoKid might stop sitting there in that can.

anyone know what the "unknown" song in the middle of the second set on 10/25 was? assuming it's a ChicagoKid song based on placement, but could be "Come Undone."
