Default There’s something oddly satisfying about blaring Cupid de Locke at dusk

Once every few years I'll go back and play Dawn To Dusk in sequence at various points during the day and, if I know I'm gonna be up late, Twilight to Starlight at night, like I used to. Back in my teens I'd try to do slow listens over the course of a day.

I still associate Bodies especially with being on the road at night, nothing around but forest, and it feels perfect.

But I had never paired the clanking of CDL to a dusk atmosphere at incredible sound levels before.

Yes, that clanky instrument. You know the one I’m talking about. Didn’t mean clanky as a bad thing.

Isn't this the one where Jimbo did crazy medicine cabinet percussion samples?

Love it though. And the Shakespearean poem read by Billy at the end

Also the cymbal rolls during the Galapagos intro that sound like ocean waves.

Jimmy Chamberlin: (Modern Drummer 1996)

"I had to challenge myself to veer away from my old standbys - which everybody has - and stretch my creativity. I think that's what helped me embrace the technology and not limit myself to just the drumkit. I used everything from hair spray to a pair of scissors - whatever was laying around - to come up with different sounds. We used a bottle of aspirin as a shaker. We'd just throw it on tape, sample it, and loop it. You can hear that kind of stuff on "Cupid."

Yah that song is a world unto itself.

Ram have you learned galapogos on guitar? Playing that has to be one of the best things a human can do.

Yeah it’s got all those crazy percussion items, but if you listen carefully you can still hear Jimmy playing away on the toms as well.

yeah i don't think this is so odd considering it's literally on the "dusk" side of a record called "Dawn to Dusk" !

The lyrics are the closest thing to a poem he ever wrote.
