welcome to the club. too bad you didn't join us sooner. it's worth the extra money to travel elsewhere to not have to go to shows there. actually going to any shows in the northern VA area kind of sucks. dc itself isn't as bad... and if you're coming from the south, going to baltimore (or to merriweather) can be really bad as well because of traffic).

I've never had a TERRIBLE nissan experience before now. Worst I ever had was 45 minutes to get out of the lot which isn't end-of-the-world stuff. But that show, despite being awesome, was really unenjoyable with all the conditions. It took SOOOOOOOO long to get home.

Merriweather is alot better, imo.

I felt like I needed that lengthy period in the car with the heater on full blast so that I can feel my damn toes again!

On a side note, felt really lucky tonight as these two young couples asked me if I know how to get to DC. I really needed the company and the help getting back to Maryland, so I got them in. We had a nice conversation about Maryland, college, and mostly music. I got them into Arcade Fire and Animal Collective when I played them in my car. Afterwards, I finally returned to a familiar area with help from them and dropped them off at a hotel in downtown Silver Spring (I cant wait until the Fillmore opens there). We became good friends and shared numbers, and they payed me $40 for the ride. Kickass!

That really made my night after what the venue made me endure.

i thought about merriweather as well. when i went to radiohead there, it took me 5.5 hours to get there, which was an average of 25mph (and on top of that i was sick).. but i had a really, really good experience there for the pixies, so now i'd go back again. i was really hoping RH would play red rocks or the gorge... not gonna deal with the rest of what they're doing. i'll just catch them next tour. it's not like i haven't seen them 10+ times already.

A carload of 5 of my friends never made it in. They closed the parking lot and sent everyone on a detour to nowhere. I hope people get refunds. Did the place actually look full? Sounds like THOUSANDS were just turned away, after purchasing tickets...

Haha, and when the crowd started cheering at this Thom turned for a second and then said, "You know, with towels and shit."

By the way if anyone wants to up the DC show somewhere where I don't have to wait for them to delete old accounts that would be really nice and greatly appreciated.

If any of you want to see the amazing performance of Fake Plastic Trees that the band gave us in consolation for the torrential rain, I found this on youtube. It actually makes me want to weep.

The person who recorded it must have been standing about 10-15 feet to my right because I was about that distance from the stage and I heard that weirdo scream, "Oh no!" pretty loud off to my right.

What the fuck is wrong with you. Fake Plastic Trees is one of their most emotional songs. I can honestly think of no better reward. Of course you might be one of those people who thinks everything before Kid A sucks....

The Greenwood freakout in this version is especially spectacular... I wish the person who recorded it had gotten him in the shot.

I like Ok Computer, but Fake Plastic Trees is one of Radiohead's very best songs.

you directly implied it by saying that Fake Plastic Trees, an emotional song, is better than something else. Take your fucking retarded musical axioms somewhere else. The Beatles fucking sucked too.

if you didnt spaz out a little when you listen to paranoid android then you're probably a bit emotionless.

i might even prefer the bends over okc but to say fake plastic trees is better than anything off okc is a bit of a stretch. its a solid song but its not on some sort of mythical pedestal. really there arent any radiohead songs that i can just say "oh man this is simply clearly better than their other album"

hell even pablo honey had you which is fucking awesome

That's the first time I have ever seen anyone say anything positive about Pablo Honey on this board.
