Arrow LAPTOP UPDATE: I fixed my Dell by simply taking the internal battery out & puttin it

back in.

I don't understand how that suddenly made the internal battery work again but whatever.

check the contacts on the battery and the battery slot; maybe they're corroded

guy estimated $100 for the dc thingie, $50-$80 for the keyboard, and $100 for the lcd thing. he said that was best case scenario. plus $120 labor.

its annoying because i don't know anything at all about the cost of parts or where to get them, etc. he said that the older the laptop the more expensive the parts, as they stop making them. i got this computer in 2004 i THINK.. could have been 2005

do a google search for the model laptop you have and the part you need. stuff should show up on ebay and the like at least.
i recently replaced my own lcd screen for 70 bucks

well no, i don't. i haven't researched what kind of computer it is, nor the specific part number - just showing there is stuff, you just have to search the right terms. etc.
obviously i'm not suggesting he just buy one of those and think it's going to work without being sure it the right part.

I think you missed my late 90s pop-culture reference.

Yes it should. He *might* be better off taking that money and investing in a new notebook if the company has a trade in program.

WC, from what I can tell you can probably get $200 off a new VAIO for that thing

there's a place in hayward that said they can do it for $185 without replacing the motherboard -- i think im going to have the clowns who have the computer now replace the keyboard, and then i'll bring it to hayward and have the power jack replaced :/
