Sting gives a shout out to Vampire Weekend
It's about time. David Byrne gave a shout out to them years ago.
https://pitchfork.com/news/watch-sti...mpire-weekend/ It appears that Sting and Shaggy are Vampire Weekend fans. They sent bassist Chris Baio a personalized video, shouting out the band and thanking Baio for his support behind their upcoming joint album. “We know you been posting about this collaboration, we know you been supporting us,” Shaggy said. “We just want to say thank you bro. Big up to you and your band.” Sting added his own dad joke at the very end: “We’re gonna have a Vampire Weekend this weekend.” Watch the video below. Last month, Baio tweeted about Sting and Shaggy’s upcoming collaborative LP—the Carribean-inspired 44/876—to say they were running one of “the most iconic album campaigns in music history.” So far, they’ve shared the record’s first single “Don’t Make Me Wait,” which was accompanied by a video. 44/876 is out on April 20 (a.k.a. 4/20). |

Hot Hot Heat are my favorite 3rd tier post punk band. They aren't quite as awful as Bloc Party but they come close.

they're third tier, so yeah. but if you're into third tier post punk bands, they're top notch.

Vampire Weekend is so underwhelming for a band with Vampire in the name.

I was being sarcastic cus I said they are third tier. I don’t like any third tier bands. It would be like saying Marcy playground and jimmys chicken shack are my favorite grunge bands.

I like the way he has an internally arranged hierarchy of bands in all genres and assumes that we know what they are

I'm enlightened though; i had all the bands he comes up with categorized as 'stale indie'

Vampire Weekend...black music made palatable by Ivy League white boys singing about being quirky.
