could have been worse. but I've seen em plenty of times in my life. a little to much of a former girl rock band trying to now do arena songs,

I really like that song The Police and the Private from Live it Out.

it says 'select dates'. I wonder what other band will be on board and which legs it'll be. I can't think they'll have metric in toronto and montreal...

Red face

It is easy to realise that Metric is no American band.
They are already twenty years playing together and won some prices in Canada.
But never got popular outside their country.

They had their greatest success ten years ago.
So they may fit perfectly to SP's greatest hits oldie show.

I guess, Fuzzy will like them, especially their singer Emily Haines...
See Emily play!

I assumed it was true, but I didn't start it. That Maples Taper guy started it. Guy should be banned for that sorta hi-jinx!

Oh, so it is only select dates. Very well could be Nickelback for the other. The dude said there would be 2 opening bands. If this was the case, it'd make sense to announce the not embarrassing act first.

I don't actually find the Metric lead singer all that good looking... Too bony and skinny. I like my women with a little meat on their bones.

Metric’s remarkable journey has seen them collaborate and record with Lou Reed, perform with the Rolling Stones and even entertain the Queen of England.

In the spring of 2016 Metric wrapped the busiest tour schedule in its history with a final cross-Canada leg called the “Lights on the Horizon” tour.
Dreams So Real is a concert film captured in Ultra HD with twenty-four cameras on the last night of the tour at Vancouver’s Thunderbird arena.

Metric has joined forces with PledgeMusic to bring their fans, in addition to the concert film, a campaign filled with unique limited edition items including custom designed t-shirts and posters, autographed vinyl and much more!

Looks like they’ll only be opening for some not all of the shows. So probably another opening band for the remainder. Wolf Alice would be a fantastic choice if available. Just saw them in Nashville a few weeks back and they put on a hell of a show! Check em out if you haven’t already!

A Facebook comment says the only US city without Metric as supporting act would be Louisville.

dang I'm out of the loop, I thought Haines was still with Broken Social Scene.

This is a surprisingly non-embarrassing choice as opener.

Agreed. I can definitely get behind this. I wouldn't be surprised if James Iha knew someone in the band. He seems to be more in touch with independent music than Billy Corgan ever was.

Ooohh, I squealed a little when I read Metric will be the opener! I was late to the party on Metric, but since I've discovered them about 6 years ago, they've become one of my fav "new" bands. Actually, they've made much better music than Billy this last decade. Fantasies gave them a big visibility boost, and was an excellent album, but they followed it up with Synthetica, which is even better, and then their most recent album is a little uneven but has some killer tracks like The Shade, Cascades, Too Bad So Sad, and The Other Side.
