(Burnt Orange Black no vox, instrumental parts only) https://www.sendspace.com/file/zn8njt One and All isn't that bad, but I can't listen to these lyrics. We are we are so young... are we now. |

Listening for the second time...his vocals def sound better. It is catchy but a bit generic. Feel like what is really missing is a melt your face off solo. I hear hints of Weezer with the simple pop song noodling going on.

i like this more than Beige but i'm getting major Zeitgeist vibes from both. seems like a regression after finding his way a bit with Oceania.

yeah, they always feel like an afterthought now. that'd be fine if he were going the shoegaze route (future) or using more leads/being guitar centric, but when he's trying to be song-y i really, really don't get it.

What bothers me about this song is that it doesn't really have a catchy riff that just hooks you when you listen. It's just sort of lots of chords layered on there. I couldn't tell you what the melody is after listening, just like with BB |

For ZG they tried to remedy it by mixing the vox loud, which sucked, so now they're mixing it quiet, and it still kinda sucks |

Better, but still bland and completely forgettable, guess I'm moving on to hoping that DFN is going to be interesting(AKA setting myself up for disappointment).
Exactly, that and he's forgotten that a good song needs space. To paraphrase BB King, 'The notes you don't play are just as important as the notes you do' At some point Billy's music became a meandering string of notes with no direction or feeling, like he thinks he has to cram something into every nook and cranny of a song. |

Both of these songs have some pep... I'm glad the album will at least be somewhat energetic. His singing is just waaaay too affected though. I wonder if we'll have some Oceania nostalgia in the next few years similar to how people are warming up to Zeitgeist now? And then we'll all be in line for the Monuments to an Elegy reissue in 2020

You literally can't please some of you people. No matter what kinda song. If Day For Night is really experimental, you still won't respect it. Pathetic

This doesn't make my ears bleed so it's not as bad as Being Billy.
But it's super fucking generic. William is becoming a good commercial song writer. Would go good in a car commercial. |

Don't know why y'all are so critical, I like it quite a bit. It's got that extra something that's been missing from the past few Pumpkins albums. It might be his vocals, honestly. It reminds me of Queens of the Stone Age. I like the guitars.
Also, there's no "love" in the song is there? I liked Oceania though, so my opinion is moot. |

If this is the song with the SD vocal effect, he needs to do it way more. Fans are super positive about it, which is more than what they said about Beige. I mean, honestly, think about it, sure we've had Starz, but this is a really well-rounded song for the first time in a long time. His vocals have been my issue, not necessarily the vocals but their mixing, so I dig this song a lot. Also, I dig the guitar riff.

This is what I'm hearing the lyrics as:
I don't mind what you're running Cuz you and me lead to something Don't just hang what you're you're running on I don't mind it's all alone for one and all We are, we are so young We're young, we're young We're one and all wtf |

I like it. Cool groove on the guitar. Drums sound way better. Good stuff.

I do too. I understand the criticisms of Being Beige because it's pretty bad in places, but this is pretty good SP2(or whatever the fuck they are now) material. With the exception of Doomsday Clock live and Tarantula on record, it's one of the best straight-forward rockers Corgan has made.
I think it's a much better song that Netphoria is giving credit for. |

I do have some criticisms that the song is pretty relentless, man, we need some dreaminess, some slow-downs. Pumpkins have been missing that. Geek USA chilled out and wasn't any the less ballsy. |

I really just miss the riffs. Somewhere, sometime, Billy decided to go for more melodies than riffs and it's a waste. He needs to start writing better guitar parts again. What I miss, is that there's no groove. At the end of geek you just instinctively bob your head to the groove. Maybe that's a Jimmy thing but there ain't no groove here. |

i like it, for what it's worth. vocs definitely sound pretty good, the guitar melody is okay, and drums are better than anything we've gotten since jimmy left. can't say I'm too disappointed with this.
