Sorry to post this on this thread but

I never realized how important Alanis and Sheryll Crow were until I met girl friends in college who loved all their songs

How important it is to have a succesful songwriters who writes about life from the perspective of a woman, I never really cared about that before (ugh privilege?)

I've learned to "understand" (grasp?) those singers a little better

But, anyways, I love this song

I don't know much about Sheryl Crow but I listened to Tuesday Night Music Club all the way through, about a dozen times, during a really shit month of my life, when I was 17.

That shit is surprisingly legit

I never really liked that Thank You song. Thought it was actually kind of a weak lead single.
Hands Clean is my favorite Alanis song

Generally speaking, there was only room for one woman in my life, at that age. And it was TC

I went to see her when she came to NZ, with my then girlfriend. We were sixteen and the future was electric with possibility. I was like, man there are a lot of lesbians at this show. She looked sideways and was like uh yeah. I think the bass player is gay. I was like oh, really? yeah I guess that would explain it.

my store plays all kinds of shit. the one i find most amusing is the filter song "take a picture" which is about stripping off your clothes on an airplane while drunk. other frequents are "no rain" by blind melon, "how bizarre" by whoever that's by (luv this song), livin' on a prayer, and some newer groups like one republic and that stupid i'm gonna marry her anyway song

On top of that song about dangerous driving and overly modest ambition, I'm typically treated to the likes of Simply Red, The Police, Seal, domestic hits that usually play over Vodafone adverts and the occasional bit of Lorde.
