New Killers single is growing on me. Still not what I would want, but then again... Battle Born was a pretty natural conclusion of a certain arm of their sound, so it's probably for the best that it looks like they're taking a turn.
I love Hot Fuss and all, but that thing is one of the most front loaded albums of all time. Side A is flawless, but Side B tanks for the most part. Sam's Town is my favorite overall. Has a few lulls, sure - but I love that record. Bought a killer Bong Load reissue of it on vinyl a while ago that if you're into it at all, you should pick up. Day and Age has some gems. Dustland Fairytale alone carries the album, then if you throw in Human, Spaceman, and the mentioned (props) Goodnight, Travel Well - then it's worth the price of admission. Favorite off Battle Born is Be Still. Top 5 Killers cuts for me. |

Favorite Battle Born track for me is Miss Atomic Bomb. Stands head and shoulders above the rest of the album for me. And the way it intertwines with/recalls Mr. Brightside is just fucking brilliant. Also, the video is super cheesy but super heart-breaking. I just love it so fucking much and I'm not the slightest bit ashamed.
And yeah, The Man is kinda growing on me. It helps that they just released a super tongue-in-cheek video for it. |
