Turntable help.
I'm looking for a decent turntable with a preamp but know little about turntables. I'd like to keep it around the $100 or less range so if any one has any suggestions for good ones that they have used before or have good specs and reviews then I'd appreciate any info you have.
So far i've been looking at these two. http://www.americanmusical.com/item-...RqWGgodATV3EA# & http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...uctId=11035018 |

i'm yet another person who doesnt know anything about turntables. to the point where i'm wondering o=if you people are talking about records players?
on the sony site they had to models, the manual turntable cost twice as much. whats the diff between a manual and an automatic? also what are good set of speakers to get? ive got old 70's one's from my parents that were great but i broke one of them. are old ones better to get? there an item i guess you'd have to find at a shop because shipping costs would be brutal. bigger floor speakers seem to have a fuller sound, and they look cooler. |

The sony one that I listed is the same as the one best buy sells for 130-140 except its only $99. Does anyone own one that hooks up to your computer through usb for recording? Is it worth it? |

if you have some old vinyls, and don't have them on your computer and would like to convert them digitally, i suggest this Numark TTUSB
http://www.zzounds.com/item--NUMTTUSB I've been looking into turntables for some time now and I'm going to purchase this one very soon. I've read a lot of reviews and it gets a high rating. It also comes with a program to help with the pops and scratches when it is converted to your computer. decent price for what you are getting and a good return policy. Edit: Sorry, I didn't see your link...that first ION one I've read reviews on it and it isn't as good as this Numark table, but if you are willing to pay more then I would go with this Numark. |

I know its almost double your price but A Pro-ject Debut III series is what Im looking to get. Its about $370 fab high quality turntable. Its the USB version. www.project-audio.com
Two mates told me not to get the sony cause it wil mess about with/scratch up the vinyl too much. Not sure if this is true or not, the reasons they gave were that its a plastic piece of crap vs turntables that are double in price but better in the long run. |

come on, dont spend $100 on a turntable, you'll eventually wreck all your vinyl playing them on shit equipment

said it a million times here
either drops $250 on a Technics 1200 brand new or spend $125 on a used one It will be the last turntable you own. If used simply for listening they will last indefinitely Even used they are better than anything you're gonna buy for similar price. |
