Tales of a Scorched Earth Clean Vocals Version?
I remember before the MCIS reissue was released Billy talked about Tales of a Scorched Earth being replaced on the reissue with a version that didn't have the distorted vocals but instead clean vocals. I was really looking forward to hearing that, and its too bad that billy didn't go through with that on the reissue. Does anyone else remember that post or interview where billy suggested doing that?

I remember reading him saying that all the polarizing fuzz was added during the mastering(?) for that song, and that there exists a version that wasn't "pushed," but just the regular mix they'd prepared. It was actually what I was looking forward to most on the MCIS reissue, but instead we got pit mix 3

i believe they were searching for this vocal take for the mcis reissue, but never found it. and that's why it wasn't included, even though they wanted to.

yeah they couldnt find it.
it would be interesting to hear a rehearsal version, as the overproduction on the guitar and dreams is equally OTT as the vocals |

I would not have been happy if they switched out the album version for a different vocal take.

An acoustic version of this would be pretty punk rock.

damn it! i love toase. T'was a late bloomer for me, at first I hated it, but it's basically great songwriting. The pit mix is also very good on the drum mixing and the guitar bits. I really hope it winds up somewhere.
