Talking Has anyone actually listened to PAstIchio [you imbecile swine] Medley in one sitting?

Yeah, that's what I thought. Me neither.

Seeing that was a mixed experience of thinking "there is so much wrong with me and always was" and suddenly fully understanding why I am still here. There has never been another band for me where I sat down and hit pause every 10 seconds to mark the timestamps of some instrumental doodles.
happy I could help!

Um....yes. Its amazing because my mind actually anticipates the song changes, as if it were a real song and you knew the hook was coming.

So, has anyone asked bally the purpose of PM?
Was it to copyright protect the songs so no one stole the riffs?
Was it to just brag about the potential of what could have been?
Was it just a fun idea?
Was it part of the machina mystery?

I've listened to it at least twice all the way through, but it's sort of sad, because every third or fourth song, Ill be thinking, ooh, that's a nice riff, I want to hear more, and then it's gone.

Kurt Cobain had once said he wish he'd saved some of the tracks from Nevermind for later releases, too much good material all at once, more than one album needed to shift so many units. When I hear Pistachio Medley I get that same feeling, Billy had so many good ideas, even while making a double album, that he was just tossing many of them out.

Yeah, when I first became a fan I really admired the 180 they took on Adore, but by this point I almost wish they'd "parlayed" the Mellon Collie stuff into at least a couple more albums

I realize there were certain major life factors that contributed to the band going right to Adore after the MCIS era, but even so

MCIS could of easily been a seven disc album. they should of just sacrificed the other albums (before and after) and spend a decade making the ULTIMATE MCIS.

I've done it at least a few times. I'm not sure how many, but I definitely listened all the way through when I first got TAFH, and just this past year I listened to it all the way through with Reprise and a few others and we talked about it as we went.

F’lobes we get it, you’re way too “cool” to like the Pumpkins, you just hang out here cause you think it’s cool to “chat” on vintage forumboards

Your mistake is in assuming everyone “else” is as cool as you

many times since TAFH box set was released in 1996. Whats up with young people and fucked up attention spans? I'm sure there's people on here who haven't even listened to the albums in full either.

Dozens of times back in the day. Most songs by other bands I listen to are longer than Pistachio.

the irony is that Pastichio is essentially the perfect possible "long song" for an ADD type of fella

Red face

https://songmeanings.com/songs/view/...4513820561522/

"My friends and I were in the bar of a bowling alley, we noticed that the single with this song was in the jukebox. We knew what it was. We speculated over what big assholes we'd be if we queued it up. We didn't do it. A few minutes later, we see that we didn't have to. Somebody else dropped a quarter for 23 minutes of music.
So it plays through and my friend and I are jamming out on all the coolest parts and weedling along to the guitar parts vocally, nobody else seems to care. We wonder who put this on, who would've been that cool, and it gets to Die.
And Die plays
for several minutes.
Eventually an aggitated drinker gets up and shakes the jukebox, he specify's to everyone around him "it's skipping". Another guy approaches saying "don't worry about it, it's almost over" (obviously the guy who put in to hear it.) and the aggitated guy gives it another rough shake, actually causing the jukebox to give up and skip to the next one.
It's obvious why it would've frustrated people, seriously who wants to listen to those three drawn out notes for almost ten minutes? And by that point all the most enjoyable parts have been long over so we didn't mind the guy displaying his impatience, it made for good show. We found it very amusing."

Corgan made his bandmates happy with the release of the Pasta-Medley, because all four got writing credits.
