I would trade everything SP has released in the last 7 years for Billy to have continued in this electronic vein.

Great track.
It's funny, a lot of SP fans at the time weren't crazy about the solo album at the time. But now with hindsight on our sides we'd all be ecstatic to hear something of that quality released again. |

I listen to the solo album every year or so to see if I missed anything in it. Each time I come to the same conclusion, that Camera Eye is the only decent song.

What I like about the solo album is that it seems to be the least attention Billy has paid to writing hits and playing huge shows since the mid-90's.

I listened to TFE in full the other day on a long drive. It doesn't really hold up that well in my opinion. My favorites on TFE are All Things Change, Camera Eye, Pretty Pretty Star, Strayz. Aside from those there's definitely some filler on that album.

I heard there's a version of the album with only ONE guitar part in each song.

Really good album and certainly one of the best since Machina. Personally, I prefer Oceania, but TFE has a bit more integrity and grit.

Zeitgeist > Future Embrace > Zwanny-wanny Swandive > Oceania
truth be told oashy's comin up in recent days though, that last run of songs as much as they seem to be hated by some (or most?) really got me feelin like it had another side to it then previously thought (by me) |

It's the thinking ZG is even remotely listenable that bothers me. That album is literally embarrassing to listen to.

It was the worst album I've ever heard from a popular band up until that new Weezer album

if i'm going to be "embarassed" might as well go all the way, huh?
in any case, thread reminded me of the song i forget and then remember once every year or two one of the best from this era, for so many reasons |
