Well i think like in french tea is tea leaves, anything else made with other kind of herbs is called tisanes, not tea or herbal tea. So i think that's the distinction shes making. I always found that confusing personally in english. that Tea can refer to a herbal drink and not necessarily to the tea plant specifically

I love coffee, I don't have a discriminatory palette for it, though. Black, milk and sugar, whatever. Yum.

We had the bodum stovetop vacuum coffee maker for a while. Which was fun. Tasted good to me too but I've read that chemex is better.

And the carafe part broke anyway so

Daily I've been using the bottled black Starbucks iced coffee. Not very good but very convenient. Would like to replace the carafe part of the vacuum maker for weekends and stuff though.

Been getting iced from Dunkin' Donuts a lot. I hate hot coffee, doesn't appeal to me at all. But iced is cool.

i drink coffee daily, usually black. my work provides coffee for us and they buy it from the intelligentsia shop in my building. we make it in a drip machine, but it sure is tasty. most days someone in the office will make espresso so i'll have one in the early afternoon.

at home i usually make some cafe bustelo in a stovetop cast aluminum contraption. it usually comes out pretty dark and potent--much different from espresso, and with no foam. i'll water it down and split a 6-cup pot two ways. or, mix with a boat load of cane sugar and make some cuban coffee. yum.

When I visited my pal in LA, she made me french press coffee, which I don't think I've ever had before. I like it a lot. I see me not doing it, though, as it requires more effort than pushing buttons. I also tried this coffee place, The Helio Cafe. They had coffee with butter blended in, like I saw on tv once. I liked that, too.

My day to day coffee drinking is out of the "keurig on steroids" they have at work. I like a fair amount of cream in mine. No sugar.

I like sipping my coffee in the morning at work while I have my oatmeal.

well i can't corroborate anything like that. the people who work there dress up like newsboys or something, i think it's a part of the deal to have their shop in my building. it's historic and there are a bunch of "period" shops on the first floor, like a hat shop, barber, tobacconist, shoe repair, and travel agent

I've only been to the one near Roosevelt and Michigan (no newsboy costumes) but they sell the beans at Stanley's on North.

This is because you live in Florida. Hey you know you can do a cold extraction and then add creamer and such at home. I've tried it and it was better coffee for iced coffee.

You can do this with Turkish style coffee too. Avram's mom does this all the time

I've never tried intelligentsia or even heard of it before now, but I'm not a coffee shop person I guess.

What's cast aluminum? I wouldn't use anything aluminum to make coffee or anything acidic.

I wish I liked coffee.

I love tea though. Currently on a big Celestial Seasons gingerbread tea kick.

it's a moka pot. just aluminum, from what i can find. what would you worry about with an acidic drink in an aluminum container?
