Favorite Guitar Solos....!!!!
So, I'm driving home from work tonight, and I'm listening to Hummer and I start thinking about my favorite guitar solos. One thing I love about the band is how Billy rarely dissappoints and almost always leaves you reeling with a sick, genius guitar solo a the end of every song, and sometimes at the beginning. I guess that would be a lead-in if its at the beginning, but whatever. So here goes:
Hummer Bury Me I of the Mourning Honestly (Zwan of course) that guitar solo on the "To Forgive" live version on Turpentine Kisses (which is the greatest live album of all time in my opinion) Heck, just listing a few of these makes me want to go back and explore some more songs to refresh my memory of more great ones. I love talking about this shit!! I get butterflies talking about this band and I've done nothing but listen to them for the last 13 years straight! Take care and please hit me with your favs, B |

Good call on I of the Mourning.
I would add La Dolly Vita, Here is No Why, and of course Jackie Blue. Can you post an mp3 of that To Forgive one? |

There are so many, it befuddles me. I'll just give one from like each main album:
Gish- Tristessa Siamese Dream- Cherub Rock Mellon Collie- Here is No Why Adore- Maybe not a solo, but the climax of For Martha is clearly amazing. Machina- Um, still thinking.. MSOTS- Endless Summer's solo blew me away with its levels of complexity, Honestly was great as well. TFE- The secret solo you hear when you play Strayz backwards. |

Gish - I Am One
Siamese Dream - Geek USA Pisces Iscariot - Hello Kitty Kat Mellon Collie - Here Is No Why Aeroplane - Tribute To Johnny Adore - For Martha (sublime moment in music, too underrated) Machina TMOG - Not that much solo's on this album, but let's say Stand Inside Your Love Machina TFAEOMM - Cash Car Star (like if I have a choice..) Mary Star Of The Sea - Of A Broken Heart The FutureEmbrace - Don't like this album |

The gravity-demo "The Groover" also contains yummy James-solo work.

Ava Adore. I just love that solo. And I like the guitars on Everlasting Gaze.
