Considering my recent problems with IBS i've kinda elected not to touch pea soup anymore for a bit. Gas is fine if it can come out, when its trapped, it's really not ok. Cabbage and onion are sulfur rich vegetables and while that will cause bad smelling gases, they're not really know to CAUSE gas more than most other vegetables. But fruits and vegetables in general being high in soluble fiber which don't get broken down until the intestines WILL cause more gas than other food.

Beans are of course especially bad for that, because they contain a sugar that the human body can't break down with enzymes and so its not absorbed by the intestines lining and is instead broken down by bacteria in the intestines and when that happens, gas is created. Which is actually the process for all soluble fibers.

Peas are technically seeds (and not vegetables actually a pea pod is a fruit since it produces seeds) which makes them also rich in soluble fiber which explains the gas.

Basically any food that makes it to the intestines not completely broken down will cause gas and this is why people who are stressed a lot, like me, also tend to have a lot of gas because stress causes the intestines to contract which causes the food to pass through the digestive tract too fast without having been all properly digested.

Peas are fruit. Tomatoes are fruits (berries). Corn is fruit. Squash. Cucumbers. Watermelons. They are all fruits. If there are seeds, it is a fruit.

Vegetables are leaves or other parts I guess.

yes i know. The pea pod is a fruit. but the peas themselves which is usually what we eat are the seeds so youre eating seeds, not fruits.

Except corn isn't fruit. It's grain. It bugs me to no end people call it a vegetable.

Grains are fruits. Flowering plants (which grasses are) make fruits.

IIRC a fruit is really anything that comes from the flowering part of a plant, and a vegetable is any other part of the plant. The purpose of a fruit is to disseminate or protect seeds. So carrots and onions and potatoes and shit are veggies cause they're like fucking roots or something, and leafy greens are literally leaves, but pees, corn, pumpkins, tomatoes, rice, wheat, nuts and other legumes are all fruits.
