The only publication bold enough to print what we've all been thinking: "Teenage Dirtbag" is a better song than "Whole Lotta Love"

I realise that, I was being sarcastic. But if this list was all you had to go by, rock music does suck.

it just seems like nothing but american bands too, is that like a thing or what. i mean i guess it's like i always say it's just mods v rockers over and over again isn't it.

there don't seem to be many rockers from UK though

Lol Kerrang. Was this magazine ever serious music journalism? I mean hasn't it always been the UK equivalent of Circus or something?

it was their BNWOHM mag at the start you know judas priest and fuckin motorhead

but they basically just ride trends, so in the 80s it was all hair metal and then when 90s came about they just pretended like they never had Poison on the cover and it was all grunge stuff...now it's this, which is this what is popular rock music in the united kingdom??? where are our UK friends to explain this to me i thought they were into radiohead and the arctic monkeys and muse and shit

I was thinking more along the lines of "music for male teenagers" not necessarily "UK music". Your trend history would back that up I think. The cover graphics remind me of Teen Beat and other similar teen-oriented magazines.

I don't think anyone over the age of 16/17 would seriously be buying a copy of Kerrang.

I honestly think we've reached an era where new generations think nu-metal and bands like limp bizkit are classic rock. Like they remember having an older cousin and seeing the videos on MTV when they were 3 or something. IDK.

It's the same reason why a poster of Slash is included. A lot of it has to do with rock guitar culture as seen through the eyes of a teenager.

I've read lots of guitar messageboards where kids are yearning for and going on about "the good old days" of linkin park and what not simply because they were toddlers or possibly not even born when that stuff was happening.

It never fails to blow my mind. Like, that stuff has had a lasting legacy. We may not be privvy to it but it's there still being eaten up by children.
