Default Pumpkins to feature in the Watchmen trailer

The trailer is set to premier before The Dark Knight.

Quote:
We also see a number of action sequences; as I surmised on my set visit, the Snyder-style speed ramping is here. I think this is one of two things that will divide audiences after the trailer. The other is the soundtrack - it's late-era Smashing Pumpkins playing over the trailer. Some will complain that it's not period appropriate (neither was the Nine Inch Nails on the 300 teaser, and that slayed us all. This song won't be in the movie), while others may draw comparisons with the last superhero movie to have a Pumpkins song - Batman and Robin. But I liked the song on the trailer; it has a driving, industrial drone but cut with the plaintive voice of Billy Corgan. The emotion in his voice is the key to me.

Any speculation on what the song may be?

The movie had better be damn good, or else it's yet another sell out move.

Honestly I'm pretty sure it would be something from Machina, as a serious suggestion, I'd guess This Time.

Doomsday Clock. They use the same songs in trailers over and over and over again. Will you bite the hand that feeds.

Odd that it'd be Doomsday Clock because Watchmen doesn't really have many, "action sequences". What are they going to do, cut a really fast rock riff over closeups of Rorschach staring down his psychiatrist? The guy reading the pirate comic book? Dr. Manhattan fucking his wife while he also works on his science projects at the same time?

However, Doomsday Clock, at least the title, does fit the theme of Watchmen, what with the end of the world and everything. And Ozymandias / Dr. Manhattan are "lonely at the top" (be it Mars or the Artic).

Gonna be a busy-ass set of trailers before Dark Knight - Watchmen and Terminator: Salvation. Get there early, kids!

er... it could be Walking Shade. What does this guy know? He can't name the song, yet describes it as Late era SP with a driving industrial drone cut with the plaintive voice of BC where the emotion is key?
