James and D’Arcy definitely were kinda elitist about music. I bet they gave Billy shit for liking Van Halen lol

This is primo classic SP footage and you’d all rather talk about Shiny Heino Vol. 3. For shame.

i would've thought James would at least ironically embrace someone like Phil Collins - i bet he felt bad about that afterward

Sussudio is better than anything on Shiny or MTAE or Oceana.

Prove me wrong.

Don’t a lot of people blame Phil Collins for Genesis declining? I’ve never listened to them I just hear people say that. Perhaps James was a salty Genesis fan?

i feel like Billy would be a more likely culprit for this (liking Genesis, not being responsible for their decline )

nevertheless,

I think James was maybe talking about the people who performed at the ceremonies?

Don't really get the Phil Collins hate. He's not to blame for Genesis declining. He's the reason they continued to be a band after Peter Gabriel left. I actually really love the "And Then There Were Three" album from the late 70's, it was a good bridge between the prog and pop stuff. I love all his cheesy 80's ballads too.

Can someone cut every interview the SP ever did and just make it James and D'Arcy talking to one another?

James is just record-shop-talking. We all do it. Calm down.

They don’t interact that often in interviews. But there are some funny moments like when Billy says “the Antichrist is probably already here”, D’Arcy replies “maybe even in this room” and then they both point to James.
