RHCP LIVE ! best arena rock band in the world

i was very very suprised.....They put on one the best rock show ive seen in ages on friday night. AND if you have the chance to see them on this tour, do so.... cause they've matured so much on this album ... but they still keep the crazy energy on stage.....(even anthony vocals are great live)

I honestly can't think of another band that can keep a staduim sized audience together as if it was a small club; (the mosh pit was more like a dance floor. )

fuck the up comming pearl jam tour ... if gonna see a lage rock band in concert you might as well have fun.

they are in my opinon the best arena sized band in the world, and in my top 5 live band altogether.

maybe if the guitarist wasnt such a whiny baby and actually cared to play some of the songs from "one hot minute" live, then they would be a tad more exciting. but damn, they really need to progress on stage. sort of in the same league as STP, although not quite as bad.

i second that...i saw them in toronto in 1999 (I was really there for STP but since it was a double bill....) and i thought they were terrible live. The music was great, but his voice was horrible.

when I saw them they were boring. They looked really tired (which, i'm sure they were) and the Foo Fighters blew them away.

and to this day, i cannot hear one of their songs without remembering how much i hate them.

yeah, it's a real pity about thier live shows sometimes. at least most of the albums will always be good to listen to. aside from a select few songs off Californication where the production sounds like horse shit.

i probably saw them on a good night. they were amazing when i saw them in 1999 at a secret club show in Philly. unreal. even anthony sounded great. that's the only time im ever going to see them though because i heard they hardly ever sound that good live and i dont want to ruin the memory.

ps..pearl jam in australia will be fun. are u mad u couldnt get tickets?

See this is what i thought too, ive seen live footage and gone "shit this guy can't sing", but last fri night he was spot on album quality (maybe he was miming).
Also they were better live than on there albums in my opion ... fleas bass made the whole place wanna dance, and i never got that from the cd.
(they got excellent reviews in sydney papers "best rock concert in 2/3 year etc")

maybe its because their not drug fuck'd anymore or cause they like playing in australia ....but whateva they were excellent ...esp Frusciante

and im not a hardcore fan .. i didn't really wanna go (i got a free ticket) ..., but they won me over.Funny.. if it had been any other night, accoding to what some of what you guys wrote, it could have been a different story.

I've never seen them in person, but Kiedis' voice and Frusciante's guitar work on TV performances are never good. Watch "under the bridge" from SNL. Kinda sad how Frusciante couldn't perform his own relatively easy solo.

exactly and they had heaps of it (also agreat set list), good comuication with the crowd, good stage set up , they were very lively on stage and had even fire works over head at the end ffs.
It just also happens that there performace was great as well.

sydney also gone though a pretty tough time recently (bali) and they said something about that too, which i thought was pretty cool of them.
