nobody will give this album a three-star review, nobody!

haven't listened to Paul Weller in ages, this is surprisingly good. no idea if I'd like it as much if I hadn't heard most songs live before I got the album, but either way, it goes straight on the best-of-2015 list.

Camp Lo the New York soul / jazz rap group from the 90s have a new album out. It's called Ragtime Hightimes. It's probably my favorite rap album of the year so far. They are mostly known as one hit wonders for their song Luchini but their body of work as far as their first two albums is really good. Not too different from early Outkast.

got "Mutilator Defeated At Last" by Thee Oh Sees, released last month.
apparently this band has been around since the late 90ies, never heard of them before.

the album is really good.

Loving the new release by "Everything Everything" just as I loved their previous two albums. It's pop that can get pretty weird. Part Radiohead, part Timbaland, a great singer and sometimes very busy music and production. Not linking to the singles ("Distant Past", "Regret"), but rather to a track that represents the album best (I think).

This is my favorite thing from this year so far (you can listen to the whole thing right there, thank you sub pop). It's interesting how dated it makes Fleet Foxes feel in comparison. The whole album is good except I would personally skip the first song. It's not very often that lyrics strike me the way these do. Stand out tracks are Chateau Lobby, The Night Josh Tillman, Strange Encounter, Bored in the USA, Holy Shit.

Chelsea Wolfe- Abyss
might change over time, but currently I find the new album better than Pain is Beauty.
felt slight guilt to listen to the early leak and pre-ordered the album afterwards.
her shop keeps fucking me - I can't resist. bundle with opaque baby blue LP - yes, please.

You know, I'm playing organ on Sunday, I'm just gonna go ahead and record myself practicing down at the church, on my phone, give myself a Celtic fucking name and upload that shit to YouTube with some fucked up explanation of how I ended up being there and a bunch of waffly shit about organs. I mean if that's a thing now ,I could totally be a part of that .

In a fugue state of mind except there is nothing fugue like about this composition. Give me strength. I mean if you wanna thumb your nose atthe Western musical establishment then fine . But this shit is just baffling.

You like organ music, try this one :

no need to belittle me with organ music, I'm more than familiar with it.

you sound like fuzzy - come in, shit on something because you don't comprehend how someone other than you might appreciate it. if you wanna go ahead and record yourself at your church, please do, nobody is stopping you.

I like it, but something about it doesn't feel like it has the right momentum to start up such a powerhouse album.

yeah I can appreciate that.

I'm a bitter failed musician I guess. When I think that after all my effort, something like this is considered more interesting than anything I'll ever produce, it's kind of gutting. I guess I can 'join the club' there, though.

I mean seriously, I am playing the organ this sunday, and I have put in over 100 hours of playing organ. At the very least. On top of the thousands of hours I've put into playing piano. SO this really does just sound like a novice twiddling around. But I guess some people just have 'it'...that undefined thing that makes their creative efforts interesting to others...and I just don't have it. It's kind of demoralising and outrageous all at once.

Wilco released an album out of the blue, and it's pretty darn good (and free).

Only you could be demoralised and outraged at other people as a manifestation of your own self-loathing.

It is! Their two previous albums were good, but this is on the sky blue sky level, I think?

I'm waiting for new megadeth
