consider that, for many people, there is no job they want. their life's passion runs down non-commercial lines (or down lines that have a chance but no guarantee of financial stability, e.g., most artists).

consider that, for many more, the jobs they want do not exist within the labour market the magical lottery of life has landed them in

If you choose to be an artist it should be your passion and regardless of the amount of money you make, you have to suffer for that dream. Also, some people are just shit and should realize it.

Some people only want a 9-5 and their life starts after that, a career isn't 9-5.

is it a fair assumption that you live in a western liberal democracy, at a time when human equality – while still far from perfectly realised – is at its greatest point in recorded history? of course you had breaks. we all have breaks. there's also lots of shit stuff but you have to assess your situation in context. most humans have not had it so good

Are you in a warzone or ghetto? Were you born in an opressive regime or are you just a history major?

i don't see how you can chastise someone for not having 'career aspirations' if you acknowledge that not everybody's passion is career-oriented

Lmao! You seriously think it is an awful thing to discuss career aspirations? Or to be positive about their situation?

Typically people who are positive and have career aspirations get hired, go talk to a fucking life coach... Fucking pathetic. Glad I saw this thread.

Because you are a pathetic fat fuck who is too lazy to do something with your life you think "career aspirations" is a put down.

I hope you find what you are looking for, Trots. Grad school sounds promising. The important thing is you're not settling for unhappiness.
